The first one seems like more like a moment of emotional breakdown and the second is more about her trying to fix her mistake. If we're looking for 3 moments that suggest Maya could have some as-yet untapped or unrealised strength of character, I'd say these could be better examples:

1. After her Dad visited, she steeled herself with greater determination to join the HOTs in order to get out from under his thumb. It shows just how much she wants to get away from him that, at least at this point, she was willing to do whatever it took to be free of him. With him visiting again and should he still be there for a confrontation, it may just set Maya off given what happened at the end of Ep 6.
2. Her decision about how to treat the throuple relationship in Ep 5. It felt like a very mature decision to essentially say they shouldn't get too ahead of themselves and it even seems to surprise Josy that she says this. It shows that Maya can find the strength to make important decisions even if it might be difficult and it's something that she can and should do more often.
3. Slapping Quinn. Definitely the biggest moment of strength for Maya to puch back against Quinn in this way and to so boldly do that in front of everyone else. I doubt even Riona has ever raised a hand to Quinn and in fact we've seen Quinn do that to Riona, so it almost felt a bit like karmic payback. It certainly signified she was done with Quinn's bullshit and maybe it's a sign of things to come with her Dad since.

Well, I can only speak for myself, but I've never dealt drugs or forced girls into prostitution, so I've definitely not done the things I accuse her of doing and I would certainly expect that everyone else who rightly accuses her of her crimes is in the same boat as me.

A) I don't remember Sage saying that.
B) This is the college gym. If Dawe's family own a gym, it's more than likely to be off campus. Maybe it's a small, family-run thing in different city in a different state, or maybe it's a franchise like Gold's Gym, and this is how Dawe's tuition is paid.

In any case, I don't believe this will be Dawe's Mom.

Someone pointed out earlier that the one time we saw a gym in the game that it was in fact Dawe's families gym that had been mentioned in dialogue. Someone else replied to that post that IT WAS NOT Dawe's families gym because bullshit reasons that aren't supported by any information that we have been given in game.

The point is that there is actual in-game dialogue that describes the Dawe Family's gym and even mentions that they sponsor the tri-alpha Fraternity. Whereas there is absolutely no mention of a campus gym, none, nada, zip!! So wouldn't it be logical to assume that the one time a gym was used as a scene in the game, a scene that depicted the tri-alpha's, that it took place in the Dawe Family gym?

Nope, you said "real world facts", it's not logical to state that because some college's have gym's that ALL college's have gyms. Also what we are dealing with here is DPC's imaginary world. And the only facts in evidence clearly indicate that the gym in game is Dawe's Family gym. B&R lacks many things that the real world has, like more than four Frats/Sororities, or more than three teachers.

This whole thing started because you arbitrarily ruled out the possibility that the woman at the gym was Dawe's Mother, I merely pointed out that she could be because the gym we saw was clearly the one that was mentioned in dialogue.

The only things we know for sure about this game world are the things that we are shown, not what you dictate can and can't be.

I might be a few pages late to the party on this one, but I'm siding with DavDR.

When the MC is spying on Chad in ep2, he's sneaking along when he thinks:

mc: "(I guess the gym must be sponsoring the tri-alphas or something...)"​

mc: "(This entire hallway seems to be theirs.)"​

Then if the mc is staying with Sage in ep4, while discussing Quinn's role:

Sage: "Yeah, definitely. That's what a vice president should be like."​

Sage: "Not like Dawe. Well...his family gym's been sponsoring the tri-alphas for years, but other than that he leaves ​

Sage: "Well...left everything to Chad, I guess."​

So the gym that everyone goes to is sponsoring the Tri-Alphas and Dawe's family gym is sponsoring the Tri-Alphas. I doubt DPC would add that bit about Dawe's family if it was completely irrelevant. My guess is, it's the same gym.
