Just because they still went to the party doesn't mean that they're not owed an apology.
It's just a matter of principal.
The HOTs (as a group) screwed the DIKs (as a group) and haven't said anything about it outside of the private explanation Sage gave MC.

And what brought it to my mind again was (atm I forget which girl) commented at the party if the DIKs were 'finally coming around'. As if they had zero right to be annoyed.
It was the other moment at the party I really wanted a chat option for the MC to retort.
Right now, the only reason HOTs and DIKs don't party together is because Tommy is mad at Quinn and both of them are too stubborn to work it out. Everyone else knows why HOTs did it (at least the official version) and that Quinn was supposed to tell them about the change of plans. So the best way to patch things up would be to throw a party together to show that things are back to normal, but with two VPs not talking to each other and DIKs being busy with repairing the mansion it's kinda hard

Also I don't see why MC, out of all people, would be annoyed, prep party had its fun moments

It's exactly that.

It comes down to the detail, the important thing is the consequence. To accept fiction, you have to be able to accept that certain small details are not consistent with our world.

In addition to the sentence that Maya comes out after, it is typically the means that an author uses to tell us that.

Or even simpler, in the fictional world of the work, it is quite possible.

I hope you can get past that sort of thing, otherwise works of fiction should not be your cup of tea.
I fully agree with you.
DPC's mistake though was to overexpose the issue, Maya talked about it in practically every chapter, and instead of clarifying the situation she made it less and less credible.
the loan has a narrative function, perfect, no problem, there's no need to talk about it every chapter.

MC needs to maneuver around them jocks having nothing to talk about but what

MC is annoyed, raging just because he cannot take them alfies one by one out back
and kick their teeth in. Alas, he is not alone and would enlist them hots to outsmart
all those beer heads plastered all over his routes into the babes hots

We will probably get that with the Halloween party. Even if the mc isn't pursuing Sage she asks him to work together and plan the best party ever. Damn, ep8 can't come soon enough.

MC was probably annoyed because he's snuck in to the preps' mansion a number of times, practically making him feel like a criminal at this point :KEK: He might've been able to have more fun moments had the HOTs come to the DIKs' party instead, and all without having to give a shit about wearing a suit, fitting in, and most importantly, Tyballs.

I'm hoping the Halloween party will be a moment of reconciliation for the DIKs and the HOTs, accompanied by closure for Sage so we can finally, fucking, finally, start dating. I'm also hoping that Episode 8 won't leave us at the start of the Halloween party by the end of the episode, because that'd fucking suck.

I fully agree with you.

It's like when you write a descriptive essay in an exam, and it starts out perfectly fine, incredibly thrilling even. But halfway through you realize that your writing is repetitive and starting to go off-topic, but you can't stop writing it because there's like half an hour left before the exam is over and it's too late for you to rewrite everything because you wouldn't be able to finish before the end of the exam, so you just push through it and what comes out is a confusing piece of work that started out strong and became somewhat of a mess halfway through.

I'm really hoping Maya's "daddy issues" can be resolved soon so we can get other forms of character development from her. From how Episode 7 ended, I theorize that Maya may have told Sage about her debt problem, and, since we know Sage is from a wealthy background from a previous episode, she might suck it up and ask her family to help with Maya's problem. After all, at the end of Episode 7, Sage did say something along the lines of "It's hard but it might work.... Just don't expect too much so that I don't feel like shit if I fail." I'm thinking that Sage's relationship with her family isn't the best, so that's the main reason for that. Again, just a theory, so no need to start pointing fingers if you disagree.

You’re acting like they’re objective plot holes when they’re not.

Your argument works both ways, people should stop defending it without any thought and you need to stop picking at plot points and acting like they’re objectively bad.

Maybe the “distance” wasn’t necessarily one of actual physical separation but Maya/Josy doing exactly what they’re doing this episode again. They’re metres from one another at the moment and not speaking or seeing each other. They went “long distance” and shit broke down because Maya’s response to stress is to turtle up in the dark and not put any effort into the relationship and Josy just leaves her to it.

It’s established in the plot that’s how they react. Just because it isn’t explicitly stated it doesn’t make it a “pathetic quibble” designed to “quash” any grandiloquent criticism of the game.

Story has flaws. Not even close to perfect (if that even exists in literature). But you’re just the other side of the same coin as the people you’re calling cringey.
Read the reply's above yours.

One person says I'm unreasonable because I insist that there are flaws in the game.

You admit that there are flaws in the game but insist that I "need to stop picking at plot points and acting like they’re objectively bad." ?!? So there are flaws but just not bad flaws and I have to stop pointing them out?

Another admits that the plot stinks but hey it's only a porn game so let's go back to talking about sex.

Suspension of disbelief in fiction is not infinite! Just because an author says that a thing is a thing is not a universal truth that every audience member must accept, there is a standard of plausibility, and this game has long since raced past that standard.

As I have said repeatedly now if you enjoy the game that's fine, enjoy it. But it's not going to stop me from criticizing this game. If you can't handle that someone is criticizing your precious game then just ignore me. If you can't do that then that's your problem, not mine.

Oh that's rich. This whole argument is about Shazba's unwillingness to admit that there are any plot flaws in the game at all and you jump in crying about this crap? HA
Seems to me it's kinda pointless finding plotholes in a FICTION work based on minor facts like in laws and student loans....
We all know student loans excist, we all know laws exists, we all know schools have policy's....
There really isn't much reason to evaluate each and every one of them to the level of absolute correctness...

There's fiction out there with flying cars, mind control, vampires, goblins, laser weapons, time travel, and literally a ton more impossible things happening....

This does not mean we can not talk about any plotholes... it's completely credible to point out any part of the story that conflicts or just isn't logical but it's useless to go into minor facts to a 100% realism level.

Everybody is entitled to form his or her own opinion and we are all allowed to think the story is credible or not, based on what we are told in the story.... If the large majority of players think the story is credible we can assume the dev did well enough...
If we disagree we still are allowed to have the opinion it lacks realism based on personal view...

In my personal opinion i have not found any plotholes of concern.... there are alot loose ends, but the story isn't finished yet...

It's absolutely fine if you criticize the game, but I think you are going beyond that. The game has flaws and parts I don't like, but none of them are game breaking, for me at least, so I prefer to focus on the parts I actually liked. I mean that's the reason I'm sticking around. You on the other hand seem to enjoy rubbing people's noses in the parts you don't like. It feels like you want them to admit the thing they enjoyed is actually a pile of shit.

I think BaDik is one of the best games I found thanks to this site. Sure it has flaws, technical and logical errors, but all in all it also has fun characters, a fine story and probably the best atmosphere.

No, you've just outlined the difference between good fiction and bad fiction. Suspension of disbelief isn't a universal cure, the ultimate trump card that cancels all objections. It has limits.

Is it when Josy is in your room after finding Maya’s father in their room?

unless it was patched out it isn’t broken it’s DPC putting some bullshit into the game to crash it if you’re using a save file that used cheats/walkthrough mod. There’s a workaround listed somewhere.
Wat. I played the game with the Mod, and never had that. The game was a little weird in the beginning with the arrows disappearing, but a little patience, and the latter chapters ran smoothly.

Yeah, the full version works okay with the mod, think it's the compressed version that crashes on several points ingame...

When Quinn made her catering suggestion to me I'd just panty raided her house, she was calling me a pervert and in general being a bit of a bitch and on first play (with no hindsight or walkthrough) - I turned her down as frankly I thought she was just testing/teasing me.

Not sure then why I'd warn Maya or at this late stage have a discussion with Sage about it as my only knowledge about it is the cutscenes with Quinn+Riona. It's revelatory for the reader but remains a secret to my MC due to the choices I've made.

I therefore expect the reveal to come from another source and won't impact me (loss of favour with an LI) as I didn't participate nor had the knowledge to be that whistleblower.
