TheWayWeAllGo has a reason on his remarks. It's not that BaD lacks "forced" NTR scenes, personally I don't give a fuck about NTR, if there isn't any I'm fine, if there is (and it's there for a reason, well implemented in the plot) I'm fine too if the narration is good and solid.
BaD lacks real competitors for MC, that's a fact. You control a character that has no antagonists, no real ones competing for the same girls. MC gives the pussy to others: Derek, Jacob, JamJam. I find this scenario less stimulating, not because I want to see scenes where those girls are banged by others (but if there were, I won't cry, it's fiction) but because I do not perceive any other male that can steal those girls if I make the wrong moves. The girls can reject MC if I make very
very wrong moves, that's all. Is that enough?
Who are the
antagonists? Maya for Josy, Tybalt for Jill, a ghost for Bella, a gay for Sage. It's like playing a war game where you are the USSR and you have to fight against Malta, would it be really stimulating for a player? Maybe DPC has planned more surprises in future updates, but I don't think so, because being stolen of a girl, even in a fictional world, seems to deadly upset many adult players.
But I'm certain DPC would have the skills and ideas to implement a credible male antagonist if he only wanted, and in a clever way, differently from those crappy NTR games I've played. He simply can't afford to lose money. That's a big creative limitation porn VN developers have to face if they want to achieve big numbers.
Well if you want success, you have to deal with what the masses want...
And in a love/porn fantasy, most dont want competition.
And i have to admit... iam like that too.
I love a good lovestory growing in this kind of VNs. And i makes me feel uncomfortable to see the desired girl maybe growing closer to another male.
But i enjoy it very much if its a struggle to win a girl over and the MC is not just winning the girl over imediatly just for being there... in this departmend, yeah being a dik feels just that the girls are throwing themself into the arms of the MC imediatly, and that is something i dont like in most of the game... the overall "magic dick" guy that scores all the girl without even saying something...
In being a dik this bothers me not that much cause everything else is just really a nice trip, AND its clear from the start that you just cant get every girl, and to me it was clear from the start that in the end you have to choose one girl, or be without love. So this works for me...
Those Harem games where you just end up with every girl no matter what are really boring, and dont give me anything.
A relationship has to grow for me in some way, and yeah needs some bumps in the road too. The balance is what makes it good...
Being a dik is a good in that department, far away from perfect, but good enough overall...
But yeah the competition in this game are just other temptations you have to fight of to get the girl you want for a love-route...
And wouldnt there be so much other interesting things going on in the game, i have to admit, just for the realtionships the game would get boring at some point i think...
But its kind of a masterpiece of work that DPC is capable to pull off that nothing is certain for the relationships, even without male competition. Cause with all the things going on you cant really be sure that everything will work out just fine all the time. *edit* i mean just see at Acting Lessons... no male competetion, but we all know hoiw that went in the end...
I hope he can deliver at this level for season 3 too... and i hope its not just zoey forced drama that makes the realtionships struggle, that would be annoying.
But i get your point why you wish for some real competition, i prefer it another way...
Overall i think youre right that its a sacrifice DPC has to make to get enough money in, if there would be real competition or even NTR, this game wouldnt be such a success, not even close.
