Books get made into movies, yes, and how often do those movies get panned by the book lovers? It's pretty common. As I noted in another comment, DPC could hire some truly great voice actors, but then I'd still be disappointed that I wouldn't get to hear my MC's name and pet names anymore.

Someday fairly soon I expect technology will allow devs to create all the voices themselves. The quality of these voices' "acting" will depend on the skill of the developer, just as the quality of the visuals does. In any event, as these voices will act out whatever they are scripted to say, they can also say our names, pet names, etc.

hello, I discovered this game only 1 week ago, and what can I say except that I fell in love with it, I was getting tired of these games all more porny than the others without any story that are not worth it, frankly it's the best game (novel format +18 ect) that I've ever played

I'm in the middle of the story chapter 4casually finished and I arrived at a choice that bothers me a little, I fell in love with maya, and I really hoped that there is a couple road with maya only, not having hung on the duration to josy in the end

without necessarily spoilers, can you confirm that it's either both or nothing? really disappointed but if I have to I'll cut my party in 2 after having both points of view because I had that I have a bit of disgust to miss jade

The one on the left we've just sort of collectively agreed shall be called Carolyn. You can find her getting double-teamed in the episode 8 dorm party by a couple guys. The one on the right was dancing with her tits out (next to Kylie & Christie) at the party. I didn't find a name for her. I won't argue the point any further, as it's a matter of taste. I'm perfectly content to do the voices in my head, but can't argue that others are wrong to want to hear actors do them. Sadly, it would certainly lengthen development time.

Re AI voice acting, to have an AI "act" out a line in a way that is completely indistinguishable from a human may be a couple of decades off, sure, but I was talking about a voice acting simulator that allows the dev to control it. I think that is probably right around the corner, if not already viable. There are already games (like Fallout 4 and The Outer World) that include characters who will say your MC's custom name. And apps that read text already sound pretty human and can read naturally. Enhancements that will add emotion and nuance to the readings will need to be done by the dev, so rather than hire a bunch of voice actors, the devs would instead hire a technical voice "director" who would set all the lines so that they are "performed" appropriately (perhaps even brilliantly).

While I haven't seen anything from DPC directly addressing and confirming it (not in the last year+ at any rate), the general consensus is 2/3 or 1/2. He could wrap it up in the next 4 episodes, which would make Season 3 the last, or he might stretch it to a full 4 seasons, but I don't think anybody expects it would last longer than that.

Thanks, yeah the game so far does feel about half to 2/3rds through the story. I'm enjoying it so if they want to make it 12 seasons that would be fine by me too, haha.

but how many games have good voices? in the genre of BADIK almost none.

BADIK in particular would need a cast so varied that to have decent actors the expense would not be indifferent.

maybe it will be a thought that DPC will be able to do at the end of the game (so in 2050-never), to relaunch the game, but I doubt it.

at the moment it would cost him an effort (since he does not like to work with others) that would hardly be repaid.

Good voice acting would actually take this game, to the next level. Pretty much most of top tier visual novels(Japanese) are voice acted. Voice acting this game when its all done is a huge task, but i think it will be worth it. That being said, I doubt it actually gets done. DPC has seemed to lost a bit of interest in voice acting the game, based off his latest Q&A. Mainly, because the game is getting bigger and bigger.

Potentially. Highly unlikely though for several reasons. First Japan have an actual industry for VNs, its huge in comparison, and ontop of that it was a consideration and decided in development before they even started making it. Plus the voice acting itself, it got producers and writers that work through problems, its an entirely new kind of production, its not just a script and a woman reading it.

Thats such a big fundamental difference between a game that have been out for years already, with set expectations and an audience that have their own distinct impressions of every character already. Its an incredible gamble at this point.

It doesn't matter if players have had a mental voice for characters for years. Book readers have their medium get live action all the time. Waiting years or decades to get it live action. Their fine with it, as long as it's good.
Like i said, good voice acting would make this game come alive and take it to the next level. The only negative i see, is that it will take away time for his new project(which won't come for a very long time).

What are you even talking about? Sure things get adapted for a different medium all the time. Thats not even remotely the same thing.

Adding voices now would be akin to swapping the actors midway in every damn scene. It would be incredibly jarring and bad, alienate people left and right to their favorite characters.

BaDik wouldnt be adapted. It would effectively have an entire recast, midway in the movie.

Any new game could have voices. But not this one, not now.

The teaser for the new episode depicts three girls we saw earlier in episode 8.

I don't think the whole season was dedicated to them (maybe MC 'll let fuck one of them, but in general we don't care about them).
I would put my teeth on the fact that the episode will be dedicated to side girls and what temptations MC will be subjected to after deciding to date one of the main girls.

In the case of Fallout, I believe there is an actual list of names that they supported, which were all individually recorded by the VA, it can't adapt to whatever random name you throw at it. Most TTS systems can't pronounce things correctly without an extensive library full of rules for specific words, either.

But, in time, it may get there. Deepfake tech will surely assist in that part of things, so one day we'll be able to toggle all of our MC's internal monologues to sound like James Earl Jones or Morgan Freeman. Or if you're a real sadist, Richard Attenborough.

If and when it gets here, I'll still turn it off, because I can read much faster than any actor can speak, and I'll be pissed because it took so much longer to download and ate up so much more hard-drive space.
