The tragedy of Josie is that she is completely in Maya's shadow, which makes me think that M/J is completely uninteresting to DPC. More attention is paid to Quinn as a character (it feels like), and Josie is perceived more as a side girl, rather than as the main one. MC has more chemistry and mutual understanding with Maya, Josie looks like a girl who managed to jump on the last car. I guess Zoya will be the second Josie in this regard.
Or is it her luck?

I disagree that there is more understanding with Maya, Maya is a more credible friend than Josy, but simply because Josy is described with a nymphomaniac--"hard" to be friends with a nymphomaniac :ROFLMAO: .

Maya gives Josy a role that she otherwise would not have, a role that DPC has never committed to giving her

Quinn deals drugs and sells her services just a few feet from Sage's room. Also a third of the HOT sorority is part of Quinn's restaurant.

It's an inconsistency to me when people live in the same house seven days a week but one doesn't question what the others are doing while it is actually her job. I understand that it eases the narrative like the main character not knowing that Tybalt is Sage's brother. But my suspension of disbelief is shot.
Quinn absolutely wants the HOTs to accept the Preps assignment, Sage would not like to but gives in, asks her to warn Tommy, Quinn does not, this almost irretrievably compromises relations with the DIKs: consequences? none.

Sage asks Quinn to fill in for her on the closing night of the scavenger hunt, two freshmen (one Sage's goddaughter and the other Quinn's) despite winning go missing, one of the two Sage knows had problems with Quinn: consequences? none.

Sage asks Quinn to go to Maya to try to convince her to return from the HOTs, Maya tells her how Quinn actually did nothing but insult her. consequences? none.

Sage decides to entrust the Halloween party to Quinn and in the event also offers her a ride on her boyfriend's

now, at first there was the alibi of the head crowded with doubts related to Chad but now? those who forget are accomplices

It's just weed. Quinn is not some kind of Scarface or Heisenberg. :ROFLMAO:.
she is actually an extremely small fish, the worst can happen to her is police scare her enough, to give up her suppliers.
It's definitely more than just weed. There was the addition of cocaine for the preps, and whatever was in that syringe she was shooting up with Tommy back in the early episodes. Despite terrible comics like Chick Tracts I'm pretty sure nobody "shoots up just 1 marijuana". ;)

that was kind of "retconned". by DPC.
Quinn is just a weed seller, and in the first time she brought some cocaine, what she was not able to sell, in the end. so she "just " selling "light" drugs.

Disagree. A retcon would be removing or altering the scene. As of episode 8, it remains fully intact as part of the original season.

but Buddy points out how surprised he is by Quinn's request, which is evidently desperate enough to even go against her own rule. so for all we know she tried to sell cocaine once and failed (which happens to her a lot)

the syringe scene remains a punch in the gut, especially because it is unexpected, but aside from a few hints with Tommy's withdrawal (are we sure it is withdrawal?) it is really a cold lead

Josy is very first girl you meet and has the most or is in the top 3 for most scenes in the game.

I think someday you guys will stop quarreling over characters and a stupid plot, and just enjoy women's asses and jerk off.
Now that's just impractical. If we were going to that we have many other more suitable websites. All the discussion is due (in part) to the renders, but a lot of it is the characterization of the individuals. If Camila behaved like Heather I wouldn't like her remotely as much, even if she does have the best ass.

Quinn also lies about what she’s selling. The disconnect between what she actually sells and what claims to be able to sell could be because she’s desperate.

She roped in the preps and convinced them to buy cannabis despite it being implied they were introduced to her on the idea of coke.

She has been lying to the alphas about what they are buying, if I recall correctly she promised some kinda birth control that works as a performance enhancer and they got sugar pills.

Point being, the disconnect between what Quinn actually sells, what she promises to sell and what she actively tries to sell could be explained by pure desperation.

She needs cash, as we’ve widely discussed. She will do anything to get a sale and she’s only limited by the fact she can’t source harder drugs.

The syringe scene is weird but not a deal breaker. It’s one thing to buy hard drugs, another to deal it. Any idiot can score heroin from a low level dealer. Buying enough to supply is another thing. Dealers insulate themselves for a reason.

Overall I think Quinn is just way out of her depth. She keeps escalating these enterprises but at the end of the day she’s a college student with (seemingly) very little presence in the “underworld”. She is desperate and pushing for more and more (as the Rio scene supports) but really she’s out of her depth and can’t manage more than, in my opinion, than riding on Burke’s coattails for the prostitution gig and slinging drugs to her immediate friends.

No that's not what Retcon is. Retcon is when a previously established plot, change for the current plot.
an Example , like in Chuck, When Bryce Larking send the Intersect to Chuck, because he was the only one who he could trust. But later on when it was revealed that it was Chuck's father who created the Intersect, they "changed" this plot and said, Bryce knew all along who Chuck father was and thats why he send it to him. Retconned the previously established storyline.
Vampire Diaries did a similar thing with the Damon and elena relationship.

And DPC did the same thing when he told us, that it was the first time Quinn buy more than just weed.

I didn't mean it that way

seeing kids smoking a joint alarms us up to a point, seeing them injecting something right away evokes much less fun atmospheres. and that scene is shoved in our faces when we're still at the beginning of the game, giving us the idea of a much darker story than the one we're later going to experience

Eh… it’s a delicate thing.

Chuck, for example, is explainable. Bryce was a spy. Secrets was his trade. Obfuscation of his motivations isn’t absurd. He could have been lying at some point meaning it wasn’t a “retcon” just a development of his motivations.

Retcon implies the writer is ignoring their previous work entirely for the new one. Again, it’s a delicate distinction.

I’m waaaay too drunk to keep track of the BaDIK scene that was supposedly a retcon, but the Chuck thing proves an over arching point. There could be an explaination for Quinn we don’t yet know. It’s too soon to jump to retcon.

Ah, my mistake. I agree!

It was darker than everything surrounding it. Darker than anything tommy ever did. It sets a bad precedent. I getcha now.

the issue is that every girl's narrative is flimsy and weak if you take more than a cursory glance at it. Quinn isn't the exception to the rule, she merely is the rule of DPC's drama factory. The blackmail with Jill is cringe as hell and makes no sense that she cant just tell Tybalt to fuck off, Maya's finance situation makes zero sense if examined logically, Sage's relationship with Chad and the accompanying drama makes little sense if they have been together for years and don't do anything intimate ever, etc. I could almost argue that Bella's mysterious issues are the presented the best so far, but that's only because we literally know nothing about them yet lol. As soon as DPC reveals the "true" reasons, they will likely be just as weak and full of holes as the others.

everyone's plotline is upheld merely for the sake of the dramatic/twist filled story DPC wants to tell
yes!

it's an extremely engaging porn soap opera...and soap operas are not known for their tight bulletproof plots. :HideThePain:

It's more than just weed, but...

That little scenario I presented in my last post is set up on the premise that Quinn does a little time in a jail (a few months or a year) and comes out just a little bit less messed up. If she was truly just a criminal product of her own making and it was nobody else's fault, I'd be less forgiving towards her. But DPC decided to show us that flashback of her as a child, and my empathy kicked in. We are all masters of our fate, to a degree, but I've witnessed what bad parenting can do to steer a person's future towards bad decision making. Quinn needs to mature enough to realize that her father was a bad man, and that love can be a wonderful feeling.

My first BADIK playtrough was Maya and Josy one. It was also my last M&J pl. There is something in that storyline that I detest. I felt like the MC did at first, but that feeling never really went away for me. As a person, I don't truly believe in polyamorous relationships... or loving harems for that matter. I liked Maya... and got lesbian drama instead. I don't pursue them because I feel like that would be destroying their romantic relationship even though I can see that Josy is a little Dik affinity HOTtie deep down... actually just a scratch under the surface... and Maya seems like a bad fit for her character. Someone like Riona seems more appropriate, or the MC and his Sword of Power. :illuminati: So I choose the friends option when presented.
