My opinion is that the Interlude could have been done better. In terms of script, I rate it 4/5, no more. The DPC could connect Zoey more strongly to San Diego characters, such as the sex scene between Zoey and the guy with orange hair. Then the drama with Emma would have been more significant. But then the snowflakes from the DPC Discord would start yelling: REEEEEEE! NTR!
But that would be cooler! Zoey would get attached to this orange guy and in the future this storyline could be used. The scene of the orange guy - Emma is generally meaningless. When Zoey turned down a threesome. (snowflakes howl from Discord again) I don't see any problem at all when girls who are not the main LI have sex on the side.
As a result, we can say that Interlude is a good backstory with the possibility of customizing Zoey personality. 4/5 could have been better.
I liked the opportunity to customize Zoey. Decide whether she is a DIK or a CHICK. It seems to me that DIK personality suits her more. Let's see how the difference in its behavior will be implemented depending on the player's choice.

The developer himself admits that the interlude was a way for him to catch his breath and take a break from the game that he has been making for three years. He practically burned down on episode 8, a loved one died, it's hard to expect and demand something from him. Interlude is a sweet story, it has a lot of interesting play mechanics (like Zoey's diary), but Zoey is not interesting to anyone.
If he had made a similar Interlude about Riona or Quinn, he would not have been so condemned here

I don't know if the Chad scholarship is an athletic scholarship, and it's not known if Sage got it for him. But it can be accepted. Stephen says to Chad to keep his scholarship for now and at that time, Chad was still Sage's boyfriend.

Game development is always risky. It is impossible to please everyone, there will be a dissatisfied whiner who will complain about the decisions of the developer. He took a risk with the controversial Interlude, which turned the whole script upside down, but not completely. Unsubscribing from Patreon a dozen donators is not a problem. There will always be the new subscribers
The best way is to make the game the way you want and not to adapt to the wishes of others.

I have a crazy theory. The Royces hid her in a mental hospital and pass her off as dead/missing. This is a very conservative, closed "royal" family that is obsessed with their reputation. Remember what Jill said? In our family, if you don't act like Royce, it's easy to become an outcast. They do not want the white crow to dishonor their family. They got tired of enduring Lana's rebellious punk antics and sent her into isolation in a madhouse. Rich and powerful people can arrange this. Perhaps Jill knows what is really happening with Lana and she is preparing for a support campaign, looking for influential allies. "Campaign for Lana" - with a lot of complex preparation, we can still see the materials on her desk during the penetration.
