I kinda hate doing it, but I have to agree with Geralt_From_Rivia on this one. Jade Empire was probably the last time you saw a BioWare game released before Electronic Arts took over and turned them into a puppet studio, severely curtailing their development freedoms. They give a lot of lip service to being able to do what they want, but time and again this has been shown to be complete bollocks.
An unpleasant contrast to DPC, who is able to do everything he wants as long as it doesn't violate Patreon's funding rules. Though being realistic, I think DPC has probably made more producing his game now than any single person responsible for the development of BW's games in the last decade.

I wish BADIK was that complex. But considering it is a porn game, it's still the best in that genre.

Arcanum? Really great game. Made by Troika who also went on to make Vampire Bloodlines. Think Ultima 4 (1985) was the first game to have the Dik/Chick Good/evil scale

I mean BaDIKs affinity and status effects is like Aptitude and Alignment from Arcanum.
First one defines your play style (either DIK or CHICK and either Mage or Technician in Arcanum). You can't change it that easily, at some point of the game it become permanent. Based on your aptitude some characters starts to see you as friend or foe. You can also chose the neutral path but it's dull af.
Second one is temporal effect (it becomes nearly permanent only if player chose so). Alignment changes almost with every action player do (good or evil deeds affects the alignment accordingly). Same as aptitude it affects how other characters interact with your character but, unlike aptitude, alignment much easier to change. You can start your path as villain but end up as hero and vice versa.

If I delete the past game and start new will it happen again?Everything makes me think of BaDIK these days.
Just started playing The Outer Worlds, and so many responses are Chick/DIK kinda choices:

Some Dude: Please, let me continue.mc: By all means, please continue... (CHICK)ormc: Not unless you want a punch in the throat. (that'd be DIK)
BaDIK has fucked up my world perspective!
The #1 cause for that is you used a walkthrough mod in the past, and haven't updated it with episode 8's latest walkthrough. The game detects that you've installed a mod and kicks you out. If you install the latest mod, that detection logic gets removed.

Ive noticed that my DIK score doesn't change once I look at it on the phone. I'm hoping there is a quick fix, but I haven't been able to find it here

It changes only at certain points such as the beginning of free roams and the end of the chapter, the game will let you know on screen when that is happening.
If you mean affinity it should change every time you make a choice in one direction.

Try using this: Detected Mod Fix
It always worked for me, just add it to your game folder and the walkthrough mod should work.
