I do not think that is the reason. DPC himself wrote so that he already has ideas for another game after BaDIK.

In my opinion, DPC gets lost in the details of the story of BaDIK. On the one hand, that's great, because then the story gains more and more depth. But on the other hand, he has to depict it graphically, which is enormously time-consuming.

He should think about doing 5 seasons and reducing the EP's again. But that's for DPC to decide.

anything can be, but from his weekly reports i wouldn't say so. he hardly ever talks about the writing phase, about any difficulties encountered in getting this or that scene back, to my recollection only once did he refer to a scene he had been planning for some time and was finally making.

always in the foreground the animations, their incredible number, their fantastic length, and then the endless count of renders (unless there is a minigame involved, which then overshadow everything)

as far as going forward the branching of the story inevitably leads to an enlargement of the episodes, so much of the responsibility has to do with the willingness to increase the animated part enormously and not only in the sex scenes.

Long term lurker here, I think DPC is probably doing his best, and while there can be thoughts of him taking his time just so he can milk the project, which can be a real concern with how a lot of big time games end up getting abandoned, I don't really see it, while I'm not a paetron or anything. Also the fact he gives weekly updates and talks of future games makes me more optimistic.
I know nothing about renpy when it comes to coding and whatnot, but I imagine the animations and what not are what probably is taking a lot.
Regardless, will be worth the wait cause its still the best porn game out atm imo.

Until we get told otherwise in story it's safe to assume that Quinn and Zoey don't know each other.

However it is perfectly possible, Zoey is a stoner like Quinn, so if they are from the same hometown the likelihood is that they would know each other. Quinn and Fuckface have never talked about life before B&R so we don't know where Quinn is from and Quinn doesn't know where Fuckface is from.

That's interesting. Quinn and the MC never actually saw each other before B&R. It may be coincidence that Quinn fell in love with the MC when she first saw him and bullied Maya about it, I'll write it that way for simplicity.

But I think one thing is not a coincidence. Quinn brought a shocker when Maya rubbed the MC. That suggests to me that Quinn knows about the MC's power and martial arts abilities. I mean, the MC can beat up four jocks in EP2. Three girls don't stand a chance.

The question that comes to my mind is how does Quinn know this? The first possibility would be Josy. Quinn said yes, so she was on the phone with Josy. But if it wasn't Josy, then who was it? According to the MC's narrative, Zoey was a wild girl when he met her. Zoey and Quinn are about the same age, and Zoey and the MC's hometown is only a half-hour train ride from B&R. Yes, Zoey and Quinn knowing each other is speculation, but it is possible. I would add that Zoey's stepfather, Floyd, bears some resemblance to Tommy.

Tommy asks the MC in EP4 if he has brothers or sisters. Tommy asks about siblings in the plural. This suggests to me that Tommy could have more than one sister and/or even one or more additional brothers. If Zoey is supposed to be another stepsister of Tommy's, I can very well imagine why Tommy is so angry with the MC. The MC is dating two of his stepsisters, and poor Tommy is caught in the middle.

Through Tommy, Quinn and Zoey could get to know each other. But then Josy and Zoey would probably know each other too, and Josy would probably have known Quinn before. Coming full circle, Quinn brings the shocker.

I heard this has been kind of an issue for the biggest "adult game" on Patreon for a while now. Don't play it myself but friend of mine has been supporting the game for years now and I heard it's getting ridiculous. There is rarely any updates etc. The dev has apparently lost a couple thousand patrons over the summer alone

You guessed right with the animations, and besides that, the renders. There are more and more of them with each episode, and their posing and processing take time. In addition, the quality of the graphics has increased compared to what it was at the beginning of the game. Here are some examples for comparison:

Dynamic lighting system, soft shadows, (HBAO probably), volumetric hair, higher texture resolution, more polygons for models. Reflections in the latest episodes, and especially in the Ep9 preview, are not inferior to modern AAA games. And despite the fact that the DPC has been buying new hardware, it needs more and more processing power. Because he keeps improving his product. I wouldn't be surprised if he buys a mining farm and adds ray tracing to his animations.
It's an incredible feeling when you look at the graphics like this, comparing old screenshots with new ones. It's like going back to 2007 all over again and seeing Crysis for the first time.

In recent months NTR has been discussed many times and yes, after some time the discussion dies, the thing is, it's brought back every half a month.
Just searching for "NTR" with the search function gives the results of what I'm talking about, at least 2 times a month this is discussed for like 10 pages of 20 posts. It seems to me that for a game that doesn't have it, it's discussed an awful lot.

its partially why I think the games the best, the constant improvements, the writing, and the girls themselves are all great, also the fact you can have very different paths depending on which route you go is what puts it above and beyond most of games. As sated above I mostly just lurk but I'm curious as to why people are hating on the game just for its wait. im not saying he will do this game indefinitely. what i am saying is that he is in no rush to finish any faster. making another game after BaDIK is a risk, whereas this game consistently prints him money. i dont think he will extend the game unnecessarily, but one update per calendar yet would net him tons of cash and not be enough to anger the majority of his patrons

I know what you mean. But one thing we know about DPC. He enjoys his work and doesn't go easy on himself. I really believe that EP10 will be finished faster than EP9.

In EP9 there will be 5 playable branches. They will be structured like the 3 branches of EP4. DPC has written that he wants to give each of the 5 branches about the same amount of content so that none of the girls are disadvantaged. That sounds like a lot of work to me.

The way I see it, he's going to turn 5 girl subplots and the 1 main story into 6 main stories in EP9. Then in EP10 he will go back to the 5 subplots and the 1 main story as in EP5.

But that's speculation. I guess we will have to wait and see if there will only be 1 update per year. Personally, I hope not. If there is, I will consider cutting back on my financial support. Unless EP9 blows my mind and I'm flattened.

It seems to me that for a game that doesn't have it, it's discussed an awful lot.

If you look at it like that, it might actually be true. But the thing is, this thread is ridiculously active (especially considering the last meaningful update was almost a year ago). I doesn't take much to spark a heated discussion. I don't remember what's been discussed 3 days ago. I don't check every post, some days I don't visit this thread at all. At some point, every topic gets repeated anyway and with all these things in mind, that's why I don't think it's an issue.

One thing that surprises me is that the mods do nothing about this discussion considering that there is no reason for it to be repeated so much, this already reaches offtopic. From what I've seen in other threads they delete most of the comments when there is too much discussion about NTR and some other things.

Firstly I agree with the other responders points, but I wanna add when it comes to the mods. - If you see conversations that are truly off topic, then don’t engage in that convo and report it. That’s the best thing you can do if you feel like it’s a big problem.

From my own experience in this thread, the mods have been nothing, but helpful and fast in the interventions. I have reported personal attacks that took things way too far, extreme vile against specific kinks, and political rants. All of them were removed within less than an hour. Don’t engage, report, and have just respond to the things that keep you engaged.

I really like your ability to imagine and create stories that support interesting ideas, but I think Quinn bringing a stun gun/taser is just Quinn being Quinn. It’s a power move, it calls attention to her, and frankly seeing how engaged Maya got during the hump, probably made it even more appealing to her.

Like she gets to rip the MC out of his moment with Maya, to then later hump and fuck him front everybody. The look in her eyes, and her reaction when Maya tries to kiss the MC says everything.

Also normally they’ll just pretend kidnap and the maggots will go along playfully after having the hood pulled on. Even if the wasn’t MC a trained fighter, then even three ladies would struggle to drag one man against his will. Especially if it’s a young, athletic dude. My point is that she would’ve needed and brought it with her, if she wanted to knock out a dude, no matter who he was.

Personally, I don't mind if members discuss other things besides BaDIK once in a while.

But as far as etiquette is concerned, I agree with you. If it goes too far, you should defend yourself and the only way to counter this form of anonymous bullying, trolls, etc. is to report it to the mods.

Personally, I do not go out of the way of any confrontation and give the member in question a chance to fix the error committed in my eyes themselves, before I turn on a mod. But everyone must decide for themselves.

None yet. I would argue that all chosen/ pursued LIs + Quinn are in love with the MC at the end of the season.

Personally I think that Josy already loves the MC if she’s pursued. A strong case can also be made for the “already taken“ princess Maya.
