The truth is even if the interlude didn't happen we would still be waiting for this update maybe I'm wrong but that's I think. A lot people aren't happy with the long wait, a year is a long time for only one update plus we have been waiting for the Halloween party ever since EP7 That said EP9 will likely feel like two. This is a amazing game and likely the best or one of the best on here but there is a fear that this becomes the new norm. When the update comes in a month or so that will fix a lot of things but after the update been play and play and play again a lot people will say or might say yeah its good, great ... but shouldn't had taken this long. Unless this is the greatest thing ever and the wait doesn't matter.Let me start this post by saying that this is my own opinion/point of view on the time matter.
I find it quite reasonable to have a year between episodes in this case. Here's my logic:
Whether you find the Interlude necessary or not, you still have to take into account the work required to deliver it. I see
people saying "one year between updates is insane", but they will still be happy once the update releases, because we all know that DPC never disappoints. My point is that hard work pays off, just as pacience gives back the perfection needed and required by ebveryone complaining ... nad not.
People saying that they prefer faster leaptimes between updates are the same that complain about Cyberpunk 2077 being released before its time and disappointing an entire community. Look what happend with WVM, we had updates every week, but that rythm couldn't be followed for too long. What I am trying to say is that I like the wait in between the updates, I like the fact that I can come back to this game after a few months after release and go for another LI branch and not doing them all at the same time and ending burning out the game. I like that we have an artist, as is DPC, and try to demonize him by not pausing his Patreon during development months, because it takes too long.
I believe we have an amazing game, with amazing storyline and attention to detail like no other game (nothing against other games, there are amazing games out there other than BADIK), and once we look back in a few years time, once this game is finished, I at least, will remember all the fun I had playing after an update released and how long it took, because a part of that happiness of playing the game comes from the anticipation of getting an update.
And to finish off this post, remember, you can always buy 2$ wine every day and have 7 bottles by the end of the week, you become an alcoholic, but if you buy one bottle of 40$ every two weeks, you will become a wine expert.
Whether you agree with me or not, thanks for taking the time to read this post, and as a fellow game, have a good one!!!
V.
