Question, the dev
OMG, do you really think that it'll be so long ? How many episodes DrPinkCake is supposed to create ? :confused:

I was thinking that, how long will the game take? like the first year of college? until the MC graduates?

But the Cathy shot is a move against all the Diks. It could even be a move against Rusty to make him lose his position as president. As for Chad's photos, how could they know Chad would suspect and attack the MC ? None of this will help make Sage free and going so far as taking nude pictures of teacher and blackmailing Chad just "for fun" seems a very weak motivation and out of their characters.
So? Seems to me, they are really do not care about DIKs or Rusty at all, and they want to separate Chad from Sage to not be obligated by sorority to attend boring parties in future. For freedom to chose party. Short term selfish college-fun as it is. Quinn tries to build her own business, recruiting newbies and making deals for good. Sara/Mel just meany bitches making fun around. They are cute on surface, and attractive, but nonetheless. I see them as Chaotic Evil destructive characters. Smart, motivated and capable to pull off this actions.

Yes, because this last update took 4 months, and as much as some people might be hoping it will only be 3 like it was between the first few episodes, 4 months is a reasonable assumption based on just how big this game has become.

As far as the whole game is concerned, DPC said this during a Patreon Q&A back in February:
The first time I mentioned anything about the total episode count I said 10-20 episodes. I know that this estimate can be improved, but it's hard to say an exact count because I have a very specific plan for the game that I can't reveal. The best estimate I can give you right now is that we're still early in the game and that I would be surprised if I release less than 4 seasons.
They also said that each season is likely to be 4 episodes each, so 4 seasons would be 16 episodes. Even with that, however, most people have been hoping that it will be just 12 episodes as 3 seasons feels like the right amount and it wouldn't be too long to wait compared to 16 or 20 episodes, but it's ultimately up to DPC how much they feel they can and will end up doing.

Given that, I did this calculation, based on the 12 episode minimum and 20 episode maximum estimate, for when this game could be completed.
Only if the game doesn't have 20 episodes. If it does, this is what we're looking at:
  • 15 more episodes with a 3 month update gap = 45 months. 45 months from May 2020 = February 2024.
  • 15 more episodes with a 4 month update gap = 60 months. 60 months from May 2020 = May 2025.
Best case scenario is just 3 seasons and 12 episodes which would be:
  • 7 more episodes with a 3 month update gap = 21 months. 21 months from May 2020 = February 2022.
  • 7 more episodes with a 4 month update gap = 28 months. 28 months from May 2020 = September 2022.
Even factoring in a few extra months for when they spend time getting each season on to Steam, we're looking at late 2022 at the earliest, and mid 2025 at the latest.

Can Heather be Chad's side-bitch?

We know it can't be Sage, Sarah, Melanie, Arieth ...
At times, I think it could be Cathy. I remember a while back, when Jill sets up that meeting at the campus to discuss the MC's issues with Chad, Cathy is the one who suggests against "disciplinary actions" for Chad, instead recommending "a proper discussion." The "proper discussion" that she recommends is mediation, which works as a course of action when there's a level playing field, so to speak, but there isn't one at that point; it's the MC on one side and the jocks on the other. Her suggestion doesn't make sense, from a counselling perspective. If we adopt a workplace or campus discrimination and harassment policy point of view, it also doesn't add up. Jade, despite being biased towards the MC, is correct when she disagrees and tells her she "can't be that soft." When Jill intervenes and states what she witnessed, Cathy goes as far as removing her from the room, saying it's "best" if she waits outside. Her actions may appear insignificant at first glance, but they could likely serve a purpose, which could be to protect Chad from disciplinary measures.

It will likely just be the first year of his time at college. So far things have been coming at him quick and fast, but I reckon there will come a point where things either settle down into a rhythm for him and we skip a few months to pick up the story at its next dramatic beat, or something drastic will happen that shakes everything up and we skip a few months to the point where the MC now has start picking up the pieces and get things back on track.

I really hope there isn’t a timeskip of any note even if that just means the game only relates to a shorter time period such as the first term.

A time skip can be usefull to show how the relationship between LI's and MC grows, how the DIK change with his new suggestions at the end of ep5.

Also agree with Holy Bacchus, there will most likely only the first year. Sage and Jill are in their final year before graduation and with Bella becoming a teacher for the MC in his second year, i think it would be extrem inconvenient for story progression

The relationships are growing as we play. rather that than artificially skip to some point in the future where we’ve missed having a say. Equally plot/characters either go on hold or skip onwards frustratingly without the ability to have any input in that scenario.

Bella's teaching him in the 2nd year or 2nd semester? I wonder if MC can fix up the DIKs in just a year.

I really hope there isn’t a timeskip of any note even if that just means the game only relates to a shorter time period such as the first term.
A time skip would let the game slow down and breath for a bit because so much has been going on in just the first 2 weeks that it might do the story some good.

So far, the MC has joined the DIKs, taken part in Hell Week, had fights with the Jocks, formed intimate relationships with 5 different girls, flirted with 2 of his teachers, and has now become defacto leader of the DIKs. Meanwhile, Chad has been removed as the Alpha's president, Quinn's business is falling apart around her, Rusty's lost access to his Dad's money, the relationship between the HOTS and DIKs has been damaged, the DIK mansion has been trashed, a nude pic of Cathy was posted on social media landing the DIKs in trouble, somebody sent compromising pics to the Jocks, and the MC has been sent some mysterious letter about his Mom.

That's a hell of a lot of stuff for just 2 weeks at college. At this rate, the game could just take place during the first month and a half of their first year of college, and for so much stuff to happen to not just him, but others as well, in a way that has serious impacts on all their lives, is pretty crazy.

Seeing the MC settle into a rhythm for a while, where he's balancing his different relationships, the DIK mansion gets repaired, things get a bit better between the DIKs and the HOTs, would be a nice respite from the craziness of the first few episodes. It would also do a lot of good in terms of the relationship building with the main LIs because knowing they've spent a few months with each other rather than weeks would make their feelings seem a lot stronger and will make the choice of who to be with more impactful.

No, it could simply been Jill and Sage are leaving the game at the end of next year. , and are replaced by other love interest. While you are attending on Bella's class. He also hinted at Spring break, winter break. its gonna rain next week. If hes plan are indeed as big, as HE say , he could easily create a full 4 year experience.

but in reality nobody know for sure. nothing is likely or unlikely, because DPC as far as i remember, didn't make a statement about this. :)

Her actions may appear insignificant at first glance, but they could likely serve a purpose, which could be to protect Chad from disciplinary measures.
This is a difficult scenario since :
- Jade, Stephen and Cathy are in some kind or triangle where Jade fights with Cathy for Stephen.
- Stephen wants to minimize damage for the college and keep Chad for the competition next year. Chad calls him Stephen. So they know each other.
- Jill as a witness could insist on harsh punishment and make a light solution difficult, so Cathy as a team player removes Jill to allow Stephen to handle the affair in best interest of the college without interference.

Just before Jill calls Cathy the night before, there is a scene where Cathy uses swyper or watches some student porn with young athlets while bathing. However this is no phone sex and it is long after Chad started his affair which is a topic since day 1 in college.

Since Stephen and Chad know each other quite well, is it possible that Sage is also a Burke and Chad a potential son-in-law for Burke? Or do they know each other just because of Chad's sports career, the presidency and maybe the scholarship?

Jill's a 3rd year which means she still has another year to go after this one.

As for this being more that 1 year, I just don't see it. So much has happened in just the first 2 weeks and the rest of this season will likely be the 3rd week and the 2nd Scavenger Hunt week for the HOTs. If 2 seasons only cover 3 weeks of the first year, how would 2 or 3 more seasons manage to cover all 4 years? Where and how would the story of this year end and the next year begin?

DPC has said that this game is based on "college themed movies" and those movies only ever really take place during one year because the whole point is to cover one particularly dramatic and chaotic time in the protagonist's life. I think we're far more likely to see this game skip ahead to moments like the winter break and Spring Break of the first year than to ever skip to the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year, unless it's part of one of the multiple endings.

A week or two I get. Pointless if months spent have forced relationship progress we don’t see or relationships go into artificial hibernation.
If there’s going to be a big time jump it should be the endings that are that.

The requirements are :

Ep5-01 : Riona
quinn_shop_japanese_lvl == 1,
ep4_discussed_riona, ep4_kissedRiona,
ep5_gave_riona_money > 0
cost : $

You need to order Riona in ep.1 from Quinn's restaurant.
In ep.4 after the Cathy cluck you need to find Riona, discuss the topic with her and make out with (kiss) her.
In ep.5 talk to her and give her at least 1 $ to get the lewd scene.
I know the requirements and I believed I've done all that... I was wrong. The thing is: I don't know what I missed and I don't which of my saves would be a good "savepoint". So, I'd have to start from scratch (again)

What you describe for Isabella (to change the outcome of mc's evaluation in cafeteria) is not possible by adding points to RPisabellaby but by adding points to the variable ep3_bella_counter which is initialised in header_ep3.rpy. Near the end of the cafeteria event the value of ep3_bella_counter determines the outcome for ep3_bella_came_around which has influence on further options with Bella and Jill. This evaluation is completely independant of the value of RPisabella, but if mc is successful RPisabella is increased by 2. (see update3.rpy)
Code:
if ep3_bella_counter < 0:
    $ ep3_bella_came_around = False
    $ RPisabella -= 1
else:
    $ ep3_bella_came_around = True
    $ RPisabella += 2
In the script the value of RPisabella is never evaluated to give Bella a differentiated behaviour based on RP points. Bella completely ignores the value of RPisabella.

Only in reports you get different comments about Bella based on RP, e.g.
Code:
if RPisabella > 2:
    $ report_text += "I think she likes me."
else:
    $ report_text += "I can't really tell how she feels about me."
If you think that RP points have influence on the game besides what I wrote in previous post, please quote the script so that we can discuss this topic technically.

Don't you realize you're giving me reason? The "bella_came_arround" is a sub event that determines how many RP you add or subtract based on other decisions (hit a troy or be insulted by the waitress) but at the end of that event what adds or subtracts are RP, I repeat, check it out for yourself, make a game in which you hit Troy and insult the food of the cafeteria , save game just before the conversation between bella and jill, you will see that she does not speak well of you, load game, add 2-3 RP with console or with the scrappy mod and you will see how then she speaks well of you. Many events depend on the RP, and as the sums don't matter, playing legal depends on events but if you sum with console the result is the same so the relevant is not the event, it is the RPs.

The thing is that most college themed movies (DPC's inspiration for BaDIK) don't always take place over such short periods of time. There's usually going to be some sort of time jump, whether it's a few weeks or a few months, and will usually involve some sort of montage or narration by the protagonist to show how their life has settled down into a rhythm, and/or how they've spent this time getting ready to meet some sort of challenge, or exam.

Relationship progress in this case wouldn't be "forced", especially if you want to be in certain relationships. During this time they simply don't require any intervention or major choices to be made and are evolving naturally through regular interaction.
