Maybe that's what's the 3rd preview could be about; Sage arranges for the HOTs and DIKs to have a get together/party at the HOT house to make amends for not honouring their arrangement, and as punishment for not telling Tommy and Rusty about the change of plans, Quinn is the designated "stripper" who has to entertain the new DIKs but she also ropes in Riona.

I like this - could see Quinn being like "uh yeah sure Sage, I'd be willing to do that. It'll be rough but I'll take one for the team as a way to apologize for my actions." (and in her mind being like YES! since she clearly likes MC) Then the ensuing drama would be pretty entertaining - how would Maya / Josy react to seeing Quinn sitting on MC's lap, making out with him all night. Ah the possibilities.

Its about 5-6 months between updates, definitely not 3. We'll get episode 8 later this year, guarantee episode 9 will be Q1/Q2 2022.

i know for a fact that before the last update which took 4 months it was on a cycle of 3 months then an update its upseting that now it is longer and idk why it is now 5-6 months between updates when before was not the case, has he explained why updates take longer now ? because i assumed last update took longer due to the Vid-19

I think 5 was released in May and 6 in November.
I think updates take longer now because of the size of each update like render counts and animations.
There's an image where he posted 8 3090 Rtx's floating around. So hopefully that'll help with render count

I don't want to Sage to get hurt, but I'm not really interested in her romantically, either, and I legitimately like a number of the characters involved in the restaurant like Camilla, Riona, and Quinn so I don't want to say anything that's going to hurt them, either.

This is one of my big issues with the game - I'm not attached to any of the LIs, and I find a lot of the side chicks to be much more attractive and/or fun. Why would I wait for Jill when I can have Camilla, Riona, Sarah, Nicole, etc.?

The updates take longer because he keeps making them bigger. He upgraded his hardware to include something like 6 or more of those fancy new RTX 3080s which has increased rendering speeds, but this update is going to have around 240 animations and probably around 5000+ renders. Each update has gotten bigger and so the development time has also increased:

Agreed side chicks are better than main girls. Sex freaks are vastly superior to virgin lesbians.

As for why they take longer, they're larger now than they use to be. Over 3k renders compared to under 2k.

Not really. I think people just get their hopes up when they see character names next to "NSFW" and think it's going to be more than what it is when really it's just marked that way to tell you there's naked tits in the picture, and I also suspect that's why they charge a higher price for it.

IIRC that update was about a 5 month wait too.

And honestly, I couldn't tell you. It's why I believe any time a VN dev says hardware upgrades will allow them to get content out faster, its pretty much a meme.

I've yet to see that be true in any of the cases of VNs ive played.

I guess if anything, the dev of this game can state that its due to the narrative style and the many branching paths that have to be accounted for and accommodated in each update. It will only grow as the game progresses unless the dev starts pruning in future content.

Suffer from the same dilemma. It's why my Jill path was left for last. On top of her storyline feeling like a high school soap the lack of scenes with her compounds on my disinterest.

Quinn is written in a way where we're supposed to dislike her and the dev does a good job at that, I'd say atm she's up there with Sage for me. Im interested to see where her story goes. Jill, Josy, & Maya I dont really care much for.

In all fairness here, if DPC were making this update to something of a similar size as Ep 3, it probably would be getting done faster. But we have seen, or at least been told about, significant improvements in the speed. The last status update stated that the total animation count will be 240 and 236 have been fully rendered. Ep 6 had 162 animations and took around 5 months to make, and it's been less than 4 months since Ep 6 was released (Nov 13th). Which means that for Ep 7, they've managed to render more animations in less time than it took to make Ep 6. So that's a pretty huge improvement.

I do hope though that the size of each update will plateau at some point, hopefully with this one, and 5000+ renders and 200+ animations will become the norm because if these numbers continue to increase, we could be looking at an episode taking almost an entire year if these numbers were to become double this per episode.

Right now it feels like the update is coming soon, with all these previews ramping up. I give it a about a month and in a worst case three months.

That's a good point. I like Maya, I'm just not romantically interested in her - hate to see her miss out on parties because of the drama with the HOTs, but then partying might not be her thing, either.

I unfortunately saw the chart after making my posts (they didnt update for some reason), with the evidence you presented it makes sense and im definitely in the wrong concerning BADIK's development.

Like you, I have the same concern. Its great that we're getting more content per episode but I couldn't imagine waiting an entire year for 1 update when biannual updates are already kind of pushing it. My attention span just doesn't last that long.

My greatest fear is waiting an entire year for an update just to see that 70% of the episode is D&G content. Actual nightmare scenario.
