This week I focused on producing static renders and working on a free-roam event.
The animation playtime of this episode alone is now over 18 minutes, which is a +110% increase compared to episode 6. I think I've produced all animations needed, but a few scenes remain to be written.
The static render count of 3505 has also officially surpassed episode 6.
To show you the work I have left to do, I can try to make a bullet point list of it:
Missing content:
Other development activities:
- Static renders for a handful of scenes (Estimation: 200-1000 renders)
- The final free-roam event is ~50% done
- 2 new/updated features need coding/art
- 3 scenes haven't been written yet
- Any animation(s) for the unwritten scenes
- Content for 2 mini-games
- Add sound and music for ~30% of the update
- Phone content (Mainly chats/Rooster/phone calls)
After this, beta testing and proofreading will start, which will get the time it needs to make sure that the new features work.
- Meticulously play and polish the update
- Double-check variables, choices, branches
- Compatibility test changes with older saves
- Rewrite/trim/touch up scenes after playing
- Initial spellcheck before proofreading

As anticipated, DPC gave us no word on additional render counts. That means no exciting charts this week (unless you live vicariously through looking at last week's charts yet again). You must be registered to see the links
This week I worked on the checklist from last week, doing bits of everything.
I focused on mini-games, phone content, and music.
Next week I will try to finish all writing and as much of the art left to pose as possible. Now that I have written more, I feel that there's less art left to pose than my previous estimation.
I will also start playtesting and polishing next week.
I estimate that I'm 90% complete with the update.
I'm pushing hard to produce what's left.
Excuse me for the shorter status updates that will come before release.
They don't mean that I work less; they mean that work is more focused and that we're getting closer to a release.
10,000 Patrons wallpaper series
It's been a joy to create and release this wallpaper series, and today I release the last wallpaper to you.
As a final thank you for helping me reach 10,000 patrons, enjoy the nineteenth wallpaper of someone new.

We did, however, learn DPC is now at 90% overall complete. That suggests Episode 7 would be finished and ready for beta testing just about April 3, which seems likely to correspond to an April 16 release (I suppose April 9 is still possible if it manages to pass testing with flying colors).
That's fairly consistent with our previous estimate, though it does sound like static renders are less of a bottleneck than the overall writing and coding at this point. It seems plausible enough, but I don't think we have much else we can use to validate the estimate. So that's about all we can say.
We also get the final Wallpaper: the mysterious Madame. I thought it might be a relatively new character, and Madame makes sense: she was given a nom de plume as it were, so she could wind up being significant. As for the wallpaper itself, I'd say it's adequate. The colors are fine and she's got fair effective lighting, but there's nothing interesting about it other than her being new. Her pose has a little bit of personality, but her mask and name could tell us that much already. A lackluster end to a lackluster series, I suppose.
So that's it for this week... well, almost. I did overhaul my sheet to include a new category, just in case DPC pulled something like this. Which means I lied: we do get a new chart!
