Wasn't a fan. Game overs are what did it for me. This reminds me of the show Humans.

One of the big things that bothered me besides the game overs, was the describing of emotions. It's a visual novel. Keyword, visual. All that stuff should be done in the images. It shouldn't need to be describe, because you should be showing it. Thus, visual novel.

Then there are times where you are saying things that are happening, yet the image isn't showing any of that happening. You'll sit on one image for a while, while the text describes a bunch of things happening that are not in the image at all.

If you want to write a book, write a book. If you want to do a visual novel, then do a visual novel. Emotion should be in the images, not in text. What you're describing, should be in the images, not in text. Show don't tell. That's the point of a visual novel.

Between the above, the game overs, the mini games, and timed choices, I just couldn't. Honestly, it needs work and refinement. Either way, best of luck with this and thanks.
dev is so full of him/her self with that stupid minigame that finishes the game over shit well, get lost
If that overview doesn't read like a story in which MC gets cheated on, I genuinely don't know what does?

So the feelings aren't real, at least from one side. nice!

Well, the mini games was a bit of a surprise, but it wasn't too bad once I figured it out, for me it was easier to memorize it with colour order, so that's what I did. Maybe could have done without the time limit on choices, but going back one scene, then back to it prepared me enough to think about which choice to make.

It’s great that you found a way to approach them that worked well for you, especially with color order. I understand that timed choices can sometimes add pressure, so I appreciate your feedback on that.

I’ve actually removed all the timed menu functions—except for one in the flashlight scene, where I felt it added the right amount of tension without being overwhelming. Hopefully, this adjustment makes the experience smoother for everyone.

And I’m so happy that your choices led to getting both Maya and Emily back—that’s definitely a great outcome!

Thank you so much for your support and enthusiasm! I truly appreciate it, and I’m looking forward to bringing you even more in future updates.

I was pleasantly surprised at the pace the story moved in this update, things are now in a place where the premise with the love interests can properly kick off.

I'm really glad to hear that! I put a lot of thought into pacing, so it’s great to know the story is flowing well for you. Now that things are set up, I hope the interactions with the love interests feel even more engaging moving forward.

Hey N0madS0uL,

I appreciate your detailed review and critiques—it’s clear you’re passionate about immersion and storytelling, and I respect that. However, there are a few misunderstandings I’d like to clear up regarding the visuals and narrative choices.

First, regarding the character models—not a single one is AI-generated. Some renders haven’t undergone full color grading yet, but every model is carefully crafted. In fact, Emily’s face model is sculpted based on a real-life person (with their consent), which adds a layer of authenticity. The models aren’t just “cut and dropped” into scenes; there’s genuine effort put into integrating them visually. If there are moments where they don’t blend perfectly, that’s something I’m still refining, but it’s not due to a lack of effort.

As for the writing, your comments suggest you might not have played through the full update yet. The initial mystery—where the player isn’t immediately told who Maya is—was intentional. It’s designed to create curiosity, making players question the dynamics at first before things become clearer later. Maya’s interactions with the MC are meant to feel slightly off—there’s a reason for that, which I won’t spoil here, but let’s just say her behavior isn’t just a result of poor writing.

Regarding repetition in scenes (like Maya’s clumsiness), I get how that could seem excessive, but there’s also narrative reasoning behind it. While it’s fair to critique whether it’s executed effectively, it’s not simply a fallback due to a lack of ideas—it serves a specific purpose that ties into the story’s larger themes.

The dialogue critiques are interesting, and I get where you’re coming from. Conversational flow is important, and while some lines might sound off depending on personal perspective, others are there to reflect character personalities or moments that have deeper meaning later. Not every exchange is meant to be purely naturalistic—it depends on who is speaking and why.

I genuinely appreciate the thought you’ve put into this, and constructive feedback is always welcome. I just wanted to give some insight into why certain choices were made so that it’s clear these aren’t just careless oversights. If anything feels off to you, it may be worth seeing how it plays out over time—I think some of your concerns will make more sense as the story unfolds.

Once you’ve played through the full update (v0.25), you’ll find the answers to your concerns.

Tried this "for free", loved its potential, and immediately supported it on Patreon. The renders are gorgeous. Good luck, I hope this one continues!

Side note: I agree with others that minigames in general are stupid and are usually a show-stopper for me. I almost always quit a game at the first minigame, just on principle. These were easy enough that I hesitated before insta-quitting, and in this case I'm glad I stuck with it. But if you removed some of them as you said above, in my opinion that's better for everyone.

Thanks for the reply, you can PM directly if you want some more feedback as to what I wrote. That being said, as you noticed my review is in progress so I will change a few things here and there.

Somethings come across as nitpick I am aware, but I am all about the immersion of it, as you clearly picked up on. Regarding the mystery as to who Maya is and how she happens to just be there, this is not a critical thing, I noticed it and for me its not implemented as good as it could have been. e.g., if Maya is an alien or something, why couldnt the dad (brainwashed) introduce her more naturally, not to hint at something being "off" Because if that was a hint it was so subtle that it actually felt like a mistake. I would have gone to a very basic "hey kiddo, a friend of mine is going to be staying with us for a while, let me introduce you". Frankly you don't want to give away the mystery by even hinting or alluding to anything out of the ordinary, it coming out of left field would have been better. Now all you do it make it strange (for me anyway)

there are several other things I noted, will continue my review and you can have a look or even chat with me if you want some clarity.

All this being said, I do wish you well with you game and I have loads of respect for people who develop and put in the effort.

I appreciate that you took the time to listen to feedback and made some changes based on them, but I feel you misunderstood what was being mentioned. I'll use spoilers to not clutter the thread.

Sorry for the large walls of text (but thankful for spoilers). Just thought some clarification might be helpful. Still won't be for me, as not a fan of the game overs (like I mentioned in my last post), but still wish you the best with this. ;)

I appreciate the suggestion, and I might take it into consideration because you’re pointing me in the right direction.

As for the second part, unfortunately, I may have to remove those extra texts. I’ve been working from morning to midnight on this project, and while I only have three Patreon supporters right now, I’m still putting everything I have into it. At the moment, this is more of a passion project than a full-time job, though I wish it could be.

Adding extra renders might seem simple, but it’s a challenge when considering the amount of text I’ve written. To realistically make that happen, I’d need a better computer and more time. In conclusion, I may still not be able to fix that second part the way I want, so my best option might be to remove the texts that don’t have accompanying visuals.

I also don’t want to take shortcuts by using static backgrounds and Photoshop-added characters—I want every render to feel immersive and intentional. I may not be able to render every single piece of dialogue, but everything I create, I do with love. From photography to lighting and all the artistic elements, I’ve poured my heart into it.
