Or the author wanted to appeal to a male audience but didn't do it well. A lot of the dialogue feels like the author is trying hard to masculanize the MC but is failing because funny enough I do see parallels to what he said. Either way I made my original comment not to start any hate but to bring my opinion. It's their game, they'll do what they want. If we don't like it, we leave, simple as that.Hmmm, no. If the intent was to appeal to a female audience then the author knows nothing about what actual content female audiences (on the whole) prefer. One only has to take a brief look at the forest decimating quantity of romance novels that women consume to see what they prefer. Or for a more popular example, the Shades of Grey books/movie. Where they spend their money and time reveals their preferences as a stark contrast to what some rainbow haired posters on Twitter(X) says they prefer.
