I don't know why, but it seems like it is quite common that people just hate the male friend in AVN for some trivial reasons. Although I won't mind to get Raven as well, it is completely fine if MC cannot get her. We have so many cute girls already.
Having a school life with a good friend and romancing with girls is like a dream to me. Maybe because I don't have many close friends irl, I always enjoy to have a male friend in game. Doing stupid things and helping them to get a girl is fun.

I'm all for male friends. It's completely illogical to have just female friends.
They also allow the MC to talk about stuff guys usually don't talk to girls about.
AVNs aren't just meet-n-fuck games and a male friend perspective could add a lot to the story.

Sure, but in most games the male friends are usually the creppy perverts, which constantly drag the MC in dumb crap because of their stupidity and the MC has rarely a choice to say 'fuck off'...or in short, most off them annoy me after 5 min to a point i wanna punch them in the face.
There are a devs which make good male friends, but they are rare. Simon isn't great either, just so-so, but i don't dislike him so far.

Simon is a way too much of an idiot. He too is also a pervert. Remember we went to strip club because him. Then he completely knocks himself out and embarrasses himself and us by association. He also got us kicked out and probably got us banned from the club. Then we had to babysit him drag his ass back home.
After that he tell he falls in love with a stripper?? like he was drunk half the time what does even he remember about her? Then gets angry at the other guy for implying that she is more than just a stripper likely a whore, Then expects us to save him after picking a fight?
I would rather know the other guy more. He seems know more about the underground areas of the city and probably has connections we can use.

True, and despite that he still isn't in the category for the worst ''best friends''...which is telling.
I'm currently playing Genex Love and that game the mc has a younger brother and a male best friend. The game gives you option to participate in sharing. Both cases(although of questionable morality) I left the route on sharing with them. Mind you, I am an NTR hater and avoid actual NTR. I also appear to have a rivalry and trust issues of other men. Shouldn't I be a male best friend hater too? Does anyone somehow have me beat in reasons to hate the male best friend?
