When it comes to video lagging, the best way to start to look for a solution is by updating your codecs.
The issue, as I recall, was that the game - without any other program running - was maxing out CPU usage until the game crashed (which happened quickly since it seized up nearly immediately). And I wasn't the only one with the issue, as it was such a problem that others were reporting it and the dev himself was apparently having issues with it to some degree. The second culprit is sometimes the drive you are playing the game from, either slow by a defect or bad sector, or some other reason.
There are more system problems that can cause it, like memory, graphics drivers, graphics cards, sometimes even a bad condenser on the MotherBoard is enough. You should also consider CPU load at the time.
One way to test that is to copy the files to another system and try again.
There's also the chance (remote but still possible) that you have played a corrupt download.
Without you telling us what you have tested already, I'm not sure that anyone can help you.
To be clear, I didn't experience ANY problem, not with the previous version nor with this one.

I for one would prefer not being forced into any type of lewd scenes, MC, non-MC, photos, videos, flashback included, but to answer your question, incest fans see it as the game rubbing it in their faces with what they can't haveI don't know why anyone would be against a NON-LIs sex scene. Neither Sasha, nor Olivia are romance-able by the MC, so, since they were/are in a relationship, what is the problem? Because they are lesbians? Because Olivia is the MC's sister (at least they both think so) and there is NO incest?
So, if the MC can't have them, no one else can? Sometimes I despair of this forum. People are okay with getting pleasure from hurting, humiliating, bounding, spanking someone. They are okay with cheating. They are okay with things like scat, vore and bestiality. They are ok with netorare. But, have two girls that you can't fuck anyway, have sex with each other, they react like the world is ending.
Get a grip (better use some form of lubrication if it goes for too long) and understand that that scene has NOTHING to do with the MC, but, apparently is important enough to the story that the Dev wants to show it.
If you see my sig, you know that I like incest games, that I like harem games, but I can also enjoy games where none of that happens, like this one. It's ok for you guys to not play it, it is not okay to tell the Dev what he should/shouldn't put in his game, but, go ahead... make yourself look like.... fuck it, not gonna say it...

I am not talking about stealing LIs from the MC and cheating, since that is an entirely different genere and the lesbianism is just the plot device making it happen. I was kinda shocked when I first started coming here and realized that, knowing that lesbian sex is one of the most popular porn tags and I can guarantee you its not because lesbians have a porn addiction. 
About that plot twist you mentioned I don't quite agree with you on that. There's definitely more to their family history, Mom and Susan are hiding something and they've been upfront about it since the MC left the hospital, but I still think she's the mother of both of them. What I'm not sure about is that Dylan's father is also Olivia's father. This could perfectly explain why he was so cold about the second pregnancy, why he was insisting on abortion, the change in his character and behavior towards the MC’s mother, which ended in beating her. Because it's strange that losing his job changed him so much. If the second child is such an unbearable burden for the temporarily unemployed, then the first is no less a burden. At least thats how I read it from their posts. There is always the debate on the time and resources spent on those scenes being used in more MC screen time, but judging how emotional the posts seem, I doubt they care about the technical aspect.

I haven't played ch2 yet, so this is what I understood from ch1 and early dev posts:
On the topic of Olivia and the 'no incest', unless Dream changed his mind, or I am completely shit at analyzing the story beats, Olivia is(was supposed to be) revealed not blood related to the MC and we probably find out about it by exploring the mother' story. IF the mother dies the MC and Oliva are not considered related by law anymore, society will still call it morally wrong, but it won't even be stepcest at that point. Its basically the initial premise of the MC and Jaye legal situation in Chasing Sunsets. So you see, both 'no incest' and Olivia will be a LI 'in the future' could still have been true, no lie by the dev there.
Seeing how it was later emphasized multiple time that she will never be a LI, I don't really know what to make of it until I get more updates out of the story, then I will know if he shifted story direction, or I totally misread that situation.
Sidenote: I think we need to eventually talk how the AVN community is the only internet group of people with, allegedly, straight males that dislike hot girls kissing eachouther.
I know your message is from a while ago but I just entered this thread. You mention real life and that it is an excuse that many make to justify ntr in games. What they don't mention is that in real life a guy, upon discovering that his girlfriend/wife is cheating on him, often abandons her. Why then in the name of real life don't they put that option in their games? Okay, your wife can cheat on you but the mc should also be able to send her to hell. Sorry for the rant and it probably has nothing to do with this game, but I'm a little tired of real life as an excuse and as you say, if that's what I want, I'll close the computer and go outside.

I agree that there is something not really well explained. But I don't think it is that Lily cheated on her partner (They never ended up marrying). It just doesn't make sense with her personality and the rest of the story she tells her son.
I'm fine with Dream's decision, dev was clearly declare what want to avoid, like incest, rape, etc. Personally I avoid any AVN that humiliation, BDSM, futa, trans, rape, gay, bestiality, etc. tags, because I don't care those genres.
What can I say, he loves his characters more than money. There are many developers who are just the opposite
