Well... If at least one of you went to the dev server (now you won't have that chance anymore) and read some information about the characters, relationships or story you would know that Sam and MC are not in a relationship.

Their whole "relationship" is based on friendship from childhood which grew into something like "fuck buddy". They have always been very close, they feel something more for each other than friends usually do but they never agreed to a relationship. If something went wrong it would most likely destroy their friendship as well. They both remained open to "multiple possibilities" in their lives but thanks to the way their lives changed because of Lily, neither of them seemed to be "dedicating" to their private lives.

I just don't get the logic behind making Sam the girlfriend from the start. Making her one of the romantic interests, sure. She's awesome and plus you know "Sister's Bestfriend" gotta go after that. But making this depressed, lethargic, overly tattoo covered loser go after someone else and lose easily one of the 4 best characters in the game (the other 3 are Olivia's tits and Jasmine) is just dumb.

Also is anyone having massive memory problems from the Animations in this game since the dumbass Dev didn't code them to end until they all end?

When a dev forces a gf/wife at the start of a game, I rebel against it. So, more choices in women are great for me and then I start hoping for the choice to dump the forced gf/wife. But, I see other people's points about it also. Everyone has different tastes and that's a good thing.

When a dev begins a story with an existing relationship, I will accept that it needed for the story the developer wants to tell and accept it. Then again, I consider these AVNs.

In my own current project, the two women are on their honeymoon because that's essential for their story (hint: Lesbian sex not avoidable).

I'm finding the story way too depressing for a porn game, I like slow burn games so I'm not looking for sex from the get go, but I'm also not looking for this kind of a heavy theme.

Such stories aren't for everyone, especially for people looking for "A porn game."
AVNs exist, in part, to tell stories with adult themes, and those themes sometimes include stories of sadness and loss, struggle and acceptance.

Devs could spare themselves a lot of pointless headaches if they were honest and transparent about all the stuff they want in their stories, a warning would also be good, but I think honesty and professionalism are better options. That way, nobody could pretend they're surprised this or that happened or they saw scenes they didn't expect to see in the story. But instead, they crawl back to their caves, delete their accounts and act like spoiled, pissy princesses cuz they can't handle criticism for their own mistakes.

I can imagine some people insisting that George R.R. Martin put warnings before Bran's encounter in the tower or the Red Wedding.

I consider Adult Visual Novels to be Visual Novels for Adults who shouldn't expect such hand-holding in a story for people who apparently can't tolerate surprises.

I feel that unless I like the GF right away. Only time I dont follow that rule on AVN's is if the force relationship is your wife cause then at least from the ones ive played feels like the game is either about the story, themes like NTR or sharing but in either case it makes me want to stay faithful for my first playthrough. As well sometimes not really that many LI options when there is a wife forced.

I was just sharing my thoughts with other people in the thread, after all, that's what game on-topic threads are for. If the author's intention was to show that Sam and MC have some kind of open relationship or just "fuck buddies", well then I didn't get it from what I saw in the game. On the contrary, I got the impression that they are a loving couple who have been in a serious relationship for quite some time. But I'm not a member of secret chats, so please excuse my ignorance and stupidity.

That's the thing with f95 gaming threads: people come in and out asking the same questions, but that's ok, not everyone has the time or patience to closely follow every game they like. Patience is a virtue.

And I understand that the game is still far from the end, and some things will be explained in the following chapters, and it’s too early to draw far-reaching conclusions about the characters and their relationship.

But at the moment everything is as it is, it looks like the MC and Sam have a serious relationship that lasted quite a long time. At least that was my impression. If Dream makes it easier to break up with her in future chapters, that's good. Now my MC would feel kinda jerk for doing this to her.

Yeah if the game itself is not enough to understand something, this is an issue. The game depicts them as a young couple not living in their own appartment yet, that's the feeling a lot of people get. It should be better explained in game. They fucked and slept in the same bed, in the MC's. Also you should be able to decline that sex scene, saying the MC is not in the mood for instance.

Not a fan either of having a girlfriend/fuckbuddy from the start that I didn't choose. Though Sam is really great, not much incentive to look for someone else. Unless succumbing to the temptation of pretty girls throwing themselves at you.
