is better and go more on own way with same charsI appreciate the effort that goes into making games. I tried it myself and gave up. It's frustrating to have ideas for games I think would be great but no realistic way to get them out there. This is my rant.
The original Big Brother is legendary. Everyone that discovers adult games quickly learns what Big Brother is and tries it. The game covers a lot of kinks and does it well. The remakes that have come out have improved on the art but are just re-telling the same story. How many times do we need to see Uncle Ben get shot? How many times does Superman need to crash land on Earth as a baby? We all know the backstory.
As far as I am aware only a few developers have actually attempted to create something with these models beyond the original Dark Silver story. Big Brother: Fan Game did the best with continuing the story where DS left it.
I like the art in this game and I was excited when it first came out but I only check in every six months now because I already know the story. Tell something different. The developers can obviously do an incredible job with the models so tell the story from Kira's point of view. Kira learns her sister has lost her job and desperate for money. Faux-cest porn is hot right now and Kira already makes money doing that and convinces her sister to kick it up a notch and ditch the faux part. Then, unbelievably, she convinces Ann to involve her own son in the porn movies! It can follow the same story and should for continuity but it's new. Show Kira talking to a producer about going capital I incest movies and have Kira help Ann rationalize what needs to be done.
Tell the story from Alice's point of view and the cool Aunt moves in and takes her out drinking on the weekend telling crazy stories of making movies and saying that playing with family is no big deal. Kira even drops hints about messing around with Max and encourages Alice to suck off her brother and eventually to even make a porn with her brother while their Mom watches.
Most games don't have much replayability. Playing Max learning how to install cameras isn't any more fun now with better art than it was the second time. DS already told us how Max does this.
If an origin story must be retold then give it a new origin. Aunt Kira wasn't involved in porn before but is desperate for money. She's already sleeping on the couch at her sister's place and she learns about Only Fans. She's making content at the home and gets caught by anyone. Explains what she is up to and now has a partner that initially just controls the camera but later performs with Kira breaking the incest taboo and doing it on camera. Max either discovers his Aunt and Mom/sister making porn or, if Max is the one that initially caught Kira, then Max and Aunt Kira are caught. Now his Mom/sister is camera person watching Max fuck a family member. Turns into full family porn with Max having a threesome with his Mom and sister while Aunt Kira films and Lisa is monitoring the chat calling out what fans want to see.
Even badly written with Engrish a new story is preferable.

And if they'd come up with a completely different story, people would have been posting, "You just stole the characters, it's not a REAL Big Brother game!"
There HAS to be overlap, setting the story, and following the original. Even mainstream, mass market video game series overlap. The stories need to be established. In this case, there are already changes, and the main story will most likely diverge from the original a bit, but the basics, the foundations, need to be there.
It's not just "installing cameras", it is, at it's core, a problem solving game with nudity, sex, kinks, and incest.
If "a new story is preferable", simply create your own game and post it out here for all to play. If you can't make your own game, don't complain about what those who do create their own games are putting out there. It's supply and demand. If you don't like something, don't buy it, use it, or give it any attention, and the creators will simply walk away.

I imagine that after that she will go join Max and we will FINALLY get some HOT chocolate Chip Cookie content, since Max had just removed the cookies from the oven. Just a thought.
No game or product will satisfy everyone. I'm just part of the group that is tired of the same story. There are at least two going on right now that are telling the exact same story which is a just a near identical copy of the original.
Reboots can be fun but, to me at least, it's never as satisfying as something new. If the original was terrible or was so long ago that new viewers might not have seen the original then sure re-establishing canon can be necessary. I don't feel that that is necessary here, but that's just my opinion.
There can be overlap in sequels. Superman as a baby doesn't crash land on Earth in Superman 2. Empire Strikes Back doesn't tell the story of Luke discovering the Force. The story continues and viewers have to have some familiarity with Star Wars to understand Empire and it turned out fine. If it is that big of a deal then add a prologue the way Terminator 2 did.
Lisa's Special Day is a good sequel. You have to know the origin story to understand what is happening and it doesn't rehash BB.
Big Brother Fan Game another good sequel. Picks up right where DS left off. Origin story is not explained, just new content.
There is another one that has Max, Lisa and I think Olivia moving to a new city. Good sequel, no origin explanation and just continuing the story.
I've tried making my own game and while DAZ isn't difficult it is time consuming. I've written story drafts and created story boards but DAZ requires downloading tons of resources, learning how to use DAZ then learning how to use the resource then the game engine has to be learned as well... I've worked on writing a few mods for various games but I just don't have the patience to create a game itself.
These developers have proven they can use the models and have great art.
I prefer to think that I am encouraging them to use their full potential and to not just quote what was done before.

If you don't want a Big Brother game with a Big Brother story, maybe... Try another game! I know it's an odd concept, but it just might work. Otherwise, all you're doing is bitching about how you want the dev to change to suit YOUR desires.
You miss the point of this game. It's not to pick up where the original left off, it's to COMPLETE the original.
I agree and disagree with your conclusion. This seems to not ONLY be an attempt to complete the original but also expand and (in my mind) improve it. As I have pointed out before, the CURRENT story in this IS behind where the original had gotten by this time in development, but we have a similar amount of content. Of course the lack of Chocolate Chip Cookie content IS distressing, but I have hope.
I guess it's time for another Spoiler fest so that we see some of the new things added here.

With the mess of spoilers completed I just want to say that the new things added here make the game more enjoyable to me. Yes, I want more (SEXY) fun, but the growth of the characters feels better to me than how the original version of this game handled things. Of course to TRULY make this game AWESOME we need to see cooking lessons and Chocolate Chip Cookie Content.
Just a thought.

One could ask the question why YOU don't play the original if you want to see Eric. He's already in that game, so why bother for a new game with same ol' Eric in it? You can even keep him as a friend if you don't care for the movie story arc.
There's already new stuff in this game, which is great. Getting rid of Eric however is what seemingly most of the players wait, so there can be more story arcs without him being involved. I am all up for new ways to get rid of him. I don't need the same thing a second time, I like the new stories, I just want him gone.
In my opinion, it is Eric who makes the game interesting, Eric and Max are a conflict of interests. We remove the conflict - we get a predictable, non-alternative, uninteresting story. Without Eric, the game will be the same as the original.

As conceived in the original,
There's a bigger plot behind his father.
Where does this information come from? Is this implemented in any of the versions of the game? This is the first time I've heard about it from you, but it would be very interesting...

The original had Eric in it. And the game plots ARE already different, so no ... with or without Eric it's a different game.
I can respect that you want that conflict, ok. Still ... you asked someone who wanted him gone, why he would not play the original instead. It remains unanswered why you don't do that. Eric has a much larger role in that game already, the conflict between Max and Eric is more elaborated there.
Anyway, according to some posts here, there WILL be a option to get rid of Eric, but of course you don't have to. So everyone gets what he wants and no one needs to be told to play the original instead, for whatever reason.
About the father plot ... that would make sense, we already have the premisse that he planted a cam in the house. But no, so far I didn't read anything about that.

What I didn't like was knowing that Eric and Ann were educating Lisa without me being able to see what was going on, didn't you have that thrill of frustration? With this version I see what happens with the family
