I honestly never even seen a BB game from the Eric PoV. If any existed, must have been a while back or the dev time was very short. He didn't say that there are not many people willing to support it financially. I take it you are one of those who payed for games with Eric as main character then?
There is no shame in being part of a minotiry, btw.
I am always confused when people say "It's not an NTR game." What do you think an NTR game is?idk, Big Brother was my first newish Western 3d porn game and I was allured by Ann's model. But after Eric showed up it was my personal mission to eradicate this asshole off the face of the Earth and motivated me to play further through the grinding sludge and nevercomming Ann content. So, the role Eric has in this game worked on me perfectly.
I won't be against deepening Eric's content and influence onto the game as it was pretty flat in the original, but in the end he must go. It's not an NTR game and remake shouldn't and wouldn't change it.
Nah I caught the jest and gist of what you were saying. My correction was directed to the point of I was not speaking about the how many people are Eric fans. I kept my point to financial support in relation to a previous comment about a version where Eric is the protagonist. Your comments was "Speak for yourself, plenty of people like that sort of thing far more than a no-difficulty no logic beta boy harem. To each their own, but Eric was the only thing good about this game to me. ;p" which is another debate that I'm fine with btw. But at best it tethered very weakly to what I said, no pushback, no ill will, just a simple correction.I honestly never even seen a BB game from the Eric PoV. My comment mostly was meant to be taken light-hearted so don't want to dig into too much, but he literally said " Yes. And it's been tried and failed more than once. This may hit a few people in the feelings but a lot Eric supporters don't back up all their words with currency."
This exactly means that he is saying not many people are willing to support it financially. That's fine if that's his opinion, I was just disagreeing.
Not a big deal, but that is 100% what he said. Not sure why the push back on it tbh.
The only one I have seen that comes close is "my girlfriend's amnesia" and even that is not ntr in the sense of the words. Some guy sometimes enters at night to have abuse the players girlfriend who can't remember anything from the day before, but only if the player chooses so. The MC does not see, so it's tecnically not ntr.I am always confused when people say "It's not an NTR game." What do you think an NTR game is?
That's fair. And though I don't want to admit it, games based around NTR do get less money than a standard harem. My only rebuttal would be that a game with Eric as the PoV would not be NTR, it would be a corruption/dom game, which people do love ;pNah I caught the jest and gist of what you were saying. I personally think that model is cursed. I've been looking and have not found a completed game with it yet. That's fair. I think it is fair to say that the NTR in the original was never fully developed. I think it was there though, and you could say the original was an NTR/Harem split route game. The only one I have seen that comes close is "my girlfriend's amnesia" and even that is not ntr in the sense of the words. If you say that it was a 100% split harem/ntr game, who was taken from the mc? I remember that the original BB always had that ntr shadow over it, but it actually never happened. It was the danger that Max would face if he didn't succeed. All I can think of are a few scenes with Alice on war path if the player didn't buy her outfit and lost influence. Is that what you mean? Or what else was there? The abusive pics with Lisa were fan made.
And no, I have never seen a Eric game myself, but I believe it if someone says that there were attempts to make one.
I am actually not sure if there are ANY non ntr games apart maybe from some hentai VNs (if you call VNs games ...). It's a narrative aspect but for it's nature it's very difficult to include it in a game where the player is meant to do something and maybe succeed.
A bit yeah. I think a lot of NTR games are by first-time devs who are doing it because they want to see NTR. Which is great motivation, but I think it ends up being more than they can chew. Not to mention, money can make a struggling dev push through that learning curve, and NTR games bring less of it.I personally think that model is cursed. Try Demon Boy I'm a patron of that dev too. Not playing the NTR route but I hear it's going good.A bit yeah. I'm actually trying to make one now with a NTR path and a Harem path. It is a lot of work. I have tons I want to do, but being real, I know for a first game I need to make it as barebones as possible or else it probably will get too complex. I think a lot of devs shoot too high that first time.
Thanks for digging those links up. For me personally, I now do recall seeing them. I passed because I kind of low-key hate the Max model lol
I've had an Epic mystical world vn on my hands for two years now and still on the opening scene. That's why I don't knock devs.A bit yeah. Actually no, what you described is just a threat and motivational story plot, but for ntr it actually needs to happen. If you just threaten to murder someone, it's not murder. But I see where you are going.[...] That's NTR.

I never cared much for Eric. He is a good plot device to get things rolling, but nothing more than that. If he was a more interesting character, his plots might have been worth something.
Once I tried the friendship path and it was boring as hell (well, except for all the neutral elements in which he plays no role in, these are identical on all paths). The only good path was the one where he would actually be a threat. But also that got old at some point and I got him kicked out. Since them I don't care to see anything of that char again. Good thing is that in BIBOAS you hardly notice him if you don't want to except for the scenes where you need to take a photo of him (or kick him out).
Btw, I now also played the Max' plot of Glamour and it was ok, just that constant control/submission/domination/punishment was really really annoying. I prefer better plots with a more natural progression. What saved it, was that massive self irony, with chars being fully aware that the whole situation is nuts.
Sure, but by that same logic, if you played a Sherlock Holmes-style mystery game following clues and piecing together a puzzle, for the dev cut the mystery before it is solved and pivot to something different, was the game never a mystery game in the first place or was it just never fulfilled because the dev changed his mind?Actually no, what you described is just a threat and motivational story plot, but for ntr it actually needs to happen. Netorare LITERALLY means “cuckoldry”. So, where is the cuckoldry? When Eric shows up, not one of the girls is your lover. Not a one. The game was meant to have two paths. Get rid of Eric before he garners too much influence, or be the submissive voyeur of his harem that gets sloppy seconds on the occasion that he feels like sharing.SO much of NTR is the build. The slow corruption. It just never panned out. The competitive character of Eric alone made it NTR. A game set up with a stereotypically more alpha figure plotting and planning to take all the women the MC wants. And, to some degree, winning. That's NTR.
Blech! That shit is garbage. Even if you disregard the suspicions that there’s some shady malware/keylogger-style shit going on, it takes ten days play ten minutes of content for all the lag on transitions and actions. It’s excruciating!
