Edit: Now that I think of it, there would be one cool scene, that involves both of them with Alice dressed only in a single shiny boot and Eric being on his knees at the hous door facing outwards, butt exposed (of course the camera not showing it, but Alice from the front instead). And since she is so small, she aims a bit too low and hits kicks in the balls - repeatedly - getting angrier and more violent with every attempt.

I'm so gald this game is different from the original, focusing more on the girls than on Eric. In the fan art he is often abusive and in the original he let Max bang his blindfolded 'landlady' without her knowing it was Max (and therefore without her consent). Even in this game on war path he blackmails Kira. Is that what his fans expect of him?

Obviously we have different preferences. However, max is not too different from eric. They have the same goals. It's just that someone likes how a family is fucked by young boy, and others like a mature man. ;)

I'm the third category which does not mind if the person is young or old (well, up to a certain limit). I just find the Eric character really really annoying.

1. go to your Appdata directory (I think %localappdata%), look for the RenPy diirectory and BBAS in it. Rename/delete the BBAS directory.
(edit: Also do that with the directors savegames in the game directory)
Try to start the game multiple times now, also create a savegame.

2. It could be, that in our game directory you have the rights to create files, but not to modify them.
Make sure you put the game on a drive / in a directory where you have full access to without needing admin privileges.

This is a long shot ...
3. Last but not least it could be a question of special characters in your username or game directory name.
I had a norwegian customer where I could create files in his profile, but not run batch files. His name contained exotic characters and at that time I didn't know that batch files had to be encoded in IBM850.
I don't know how RenPy handles such names, but it could be worth a shot.
3.1 Also if the total lenth of a file name including it's path and separators exceeds 256 characters, many programs have problems with it, so make sure that the parent path of the game is not too long.

Thanks, fiddled around with the files a bit (%APPDATA%, RenPy dir, BB_AS dir) it seems that persistent save file is giving issues. Not sure why but hey ho, it worked again. Gonna check the contents later, see if I can find something corrupt in it.

2, 3 and 3.1 are correct, permissions are fine, no funky characters or long paths :)

Great. You're not the first one wiht a corrupted persistent file. I never managed to damage mine, but it seems to happen from time to time.

I don't want to be that guy, but after two disappointing updates I thought that Aleksey will make a good one. It was announced for the second half of February and will probably appear around the middle of March. If I was paying for a service or a product, I'd be pretty pissed off by the recent lack of quality and the misleading release dates.

I really hope Aleksey, his family and friends are well in the current situation. I really hope he will find that much needed influx of creative spirit we need from him.

The final testing of v0.08 is now underway. Many bugs are found and they are being fixed. v0.08 may also be disappointing. Especially those who want new events with Alice or Kira. I decided to focus on events with Lisa and Ann. It was the events with them that were most important right now. These events come in all three paths of plot development (Real Friendship / Fake Friendship / Hostile). There will be events common to all paths, as well as those unique to each path. The next one, v0.09, will focus primarily on Alice.
