It's a problem with the hair cap on the hair. Max's head is too big so the cap interacts funny (this happens with other characters too). Two solutions... If you have photoshop just use the heal tool on the area (So you don't have to re-render). The actual solution is to select the hair go to parameters tab, and under actor in Fraiser hair there are options. I think if you set head size to 0.1 it should solve the problem.

Unzip archive to \My library\data\goldtassel\BradyHairGN3\Brady Hair\Morphs
And reload the scene. Select Brady Hair->Shaping tab->Actor. Set "G3 hair fix" property to 100%.

Cool, thanks. I’ll apply the fix for Ann as well as the fix celtic1138 described for Max and re-save each as scene subsets in my B.B. characters folder.

Obviously, the hair is getting fixed up, but what comes through is your appreciation for the characters. The activity in the background is, of course, hilarious - and equally with hair issues. Nevertheless, really careful and thoughtful work. You guys are competing to be the Robert Alvarado of the BB universe. lol

Common problem with some combinations of figures and hairs. Tends to be worse if the figures have been scaled (up or down) because the hair doesn't automagically inherit the scaling.
