Well we could do it? The lore gives us enough to know what to do to continue the story, the maps style can be copied, while the characters are mostly badly drawn so we could do better...

If there was a programer and designer free you know what they would be doing instead, creating their own game.
You people who ask for randoms to pick up abandoned games are beyond foolish.
There is way less risk to simply make a brand new game even if said game is extremely derivative of an abandoned game.
There is nothing stopping someone who stopped developing something to contact Patreon, Steam, Itch.io, or any other place and say hey this guy is telling my stuff.
If you are asking people to work for free you are also dumb in a completely different way.
There are plenty of programmer out there who cant write a story if there life depended on it. Modern gaming would not be the shit show that it is if that was untrue.
You are forgetting that developers are people to, feyring said a few years back that he was sick but getting better (that sickness lasted 2-3 months) then a few years later he went quite when he almost finished the new map... Hopefully he is ok but he finished the map then went quite!
But its true that creating a copy of this game would be better for the legal reasons you mentioned, if I repeat IF I OR SOMEBODY CONTINUING THIS GAME WERE SELLING THE GAME!!!
And that is what I was offering, me I repeat ME Working for FREE to help somebody create a continuation of this game! Whether it is feyring or somebody new! (the lore in this game is shallow and full of plot holes)
I like the flavor of this game and want to see it survive in some form!
And you must also be retarded to not realize that MODS EXIST!!! MODS BIGGER THAN THE ORIGINAL GAMES!!!

Matter of fact it's always a big gamble to try useing assests and ideas of someone else unless you have explicit permission.
Why do you think there are so few Disney parody porn games actually seing the end of their development goals?
Starting something fresh being inspired by a predecessor is by nature less risky and hencefore more appealing in most cases.
Also considering the art that's also a personal thing... it's not easy to make good art and in it's prime this game was held in high regards beacause of it's unique sytle in that regard.
And as far as I recall Skyrim was allowed to be modded by it's creators, even if they wouldn't be in favor to some of these mods.

Yeah, I really don't agree with the way that they said it, but Belphegor was right. Anyone else who picked up this game would be undertaking both a large risk and a large challenge. It would be easier and safer to start their own project, drawing inspiration from the mechanics present in this one that they liked. (Also, I liked a lot of the art in this game.)
