should i play the first one first; or is it skippable seeing how this thread has 5x more pages
BS2 can be played on its own & you will get the current story mostly.
However!
Of course the payoff by playing the first game & its ending A, C & D is bigger.
The only one you can really skip is RRH because its focused on a single character & the devs first game.
While BS1-2 share a huge overaching connection & story.

So yes i would recommend it play BS1 first. While BS1 has rough parts its still a passionate game using RPGmaker in a creative way.
While BS2 i would say pushes the limits of what a RPGmaker game can be.

The reason this has a huge page number is because of lore discussions, same old questions everyone asks in regular intervals & overall updates on devs newest game that is currently in the works.

Im downloading this onto a mac using unarchiver and it's asking for a password (not for the secret archive, for the whole thing), anyone else experiencing this? Do we need a password to extract the whole game? Never run into this on F95

Unless its something detecting the secret archive. No the game doesnt need a pw.
I think pws for main thread games are against the rules in the first place

It could not be more linear, dlcs are fat better than the base game. The og walktrough itself is so painfully detailed you might aswell watch someone else play the game.
I mostly use it for getting out of getting stuck. And I haven't played any of the DLC so that's high praise coming from an already great game, will definitely check them out.

And for what it's worth, last time I used a guide on this game after a confusing blind run, it was so utterly off and outdated it was kinda comical.

Yeah that's fine, one of the reasons I dropped the game initially in 2023 was because the impression I had to use the guide to understand anything, which only made me more confused.

Most guides were probably written using the old fan TL so a lot of names of items, locations, and even npc names will be different.
