honestly very happy to see this game succeeding as wildly as it is because despite some of the iffier content the story is genuinely one of the most solid things I've seen in a while and all the character endings in BS1 were solid.

Just finished BS1 and have been trying to holdout for BS2 on steam but CANT AHHHHHHHHHHH. Any news on WHEN it will be on steam? assuming DLCs will come later than initial release. BS1 left such an unfinished business taste in my mouth that I'm literally going insane trying to hold off from not starting 2.

Hopefully achievies work retroactively with saves...... but I doubt it.

If they aren't greedy (the publishers or the dev himself) then it will release with all DLC included (that was the state BS1 released in steam). No news about when it's releasing but estimations would probably be around 3-6 months max from now (since the game is already translated in English) to increase the sales of BS1 before releasing BS2. It might release earlier, who knows.

I doubt bs2 won't release with the dlcs rolled in since you know, they were free.
The DLCs were free? Oh nice, I thought it was a separate thing you have to pay for in DLsite back then.

If anything, just download it here and play. Steam release of BS2 will take time, plus there's no guarantee another Visa/MC tantrum or alike won't happen. Just buy game on Steam later when it's released, if you feel guilty about it.

It's great to hear that this game is releasing on Steam!
I'm pretty sure I've already done everything I could want to do in the game, but I'd still like to support the developer.

Does anyone know whether developers gets a larger cut of money from DLSite or Steam?

On an irrelevant tangent, RPG Maker VX Ace really makes it easy for a newbie to edit the game, create events, and make items. This is after I beat the game, of course-
Having never used RPG Maker before, or coded anything; in a matter of like half an hour, I was able to do stuff like:
-Make the Hunter's bow normal attack scale with Agility.
-Create a custom Luck scaling weapon with a skill that has a 50% chance to repeat, and can repeat indefinitely.
-Make it so that if I started with a certain boss' name, I could choose another starting class that uses the sprite/portrait of the boss, and starts with her skills and custom stat growth.
-Added a very barebones area that unlocks at 23 progression, with the 4 princesses from BS1 running around, and a completely imbalanced low quality boss that reuses other assets, and pretty much kills me in one hit.
-Disable/edit the spooky CG and SE popups that occur after triggering a certain event.

I did this stuff mainly just to see if I could do it. It certainly helped to have the assets from BS2, and other parts of the game to look at for the purpose of reverse-engineering. The hardest part was trying to navigate through the Events with their Japanese names.

But this experience was honestly really fun to do. RPG Maker made it very intuitive and straightforward. It felt nice going from having zero experience/understanding of how the game works, to being able to add in and change what I wanted.

Steam takes 30% cut, DLSite cut varies depending on the game's price. If the game costs over $13.46 (¥1980), then DLSite's cut is lower.

Though I've heard from one Steam seller that after taxes, fees, etc., you might only end up with 50% of the retail price on Steam, though I imagine those taxes and fees would probably apply to DLSite too. Nonetheless the retailer's cut is lower on DLSite above $13.46.

I dont get the "homeward bone immediately after kill the white rabbit" in the beginning of the guide, is it really that necessary? Can anyone tell me if its actually lore-effective without giving a spoiler?

There are some events/interactions/graphics/text that only occur at high SEN, and some that only occur at low SEN.
Some of the SEN-variable events only have a single chance to be seen, and/or can be missed. And some of these missable events can also be required to see later events.

If it's your first playthough, I suggest going in blind.
IMO, it's fun to play through at both high SEN, low SEN, or trying to swap between the two. I'd say it's the type of game that takes multiple playthrough to really absorb everything.

You'd get it if you continued to follow the guide. In short, right after the rabbit boss the is a sen locked event that you only get one chance to trigger per run so the guide has you homeward out to avoid that until you can get the right sen.

Hope so... honestly the only thing holding me back is achievies but so far it looks like im gonna have to do muiltiple runs anyway so... Already started playing lol.

For the DLC stuff I didn't know about pricing since i cant view on DLsite, but i was thinking about like extra translation and uncensor work on their part maybe making them release them later? I dont even know what the DLCs are personally except they exist!

The game is already fully translated with an official translation at that (it's the one in this thread). In my opinion, the things holding back the release are 1, uncensored CGs which shouldn't be that much of a delay and 2, gutting the game for the r18 patch, while making sure it still "works" which is much more of a delay, especially considering how much larger bs 2 is compared to 1.
I haven't touched the steam version of 1 but I heard things like you can't enter dorothy's house and I saw a picture of someone standing on the stairs of the prison which implies you can't go down there either (which in hindsight doesn't make sense as you wouldn't be able to get to little mermaid or frog princess which means you wouldn't be able to enter lost empire to finish the game).
