It's great to hear that this game is releasing on Steam!
I'm pretty sure I've already done everything I could want to do in the game, but I'd still like to support the developer.
Does anyone know whether developers gets a larger cut of money from DLSite or Steam?
On an irrelevant tangent, RPG Maker VX Ace really makes it easy for a newbie to edit the game, create events, and make items. This is after I beat the game, of course-
Having never used RPG Maker before, or coded anything; in a matter of like half an hour, I was able to do stuff like:
-Make the Hunter's bow normal attack scale with Agility.
-Create a custom Luck scaling weapon with a skill that has a 50% chance to repeat, and can repeat indefinitely.
-Make it so that if I started with a certain boss' name, I could choose another starting class that uses the sprite/portrait of the boss, and starts with her skills and custom stat growth.
-Added a very barebones area that unlocks at 23 progression, with the 4 princesses from BS1 running around, and a completely imbalanced low quality boss that reuses other assets, and pretty much kills me in one hit.
-Disable/edit the spooky CG and SE popups that occur after triggering a certain event.
I did this stuff mainly just to see if I could do it. It certainly helped to have the assets from BS2, and other parts of the game to look at for the purpose of reverse-engineering. The hardest part was trying to navigate through the Events with their Japanese names.
But this experience was honestly really fun to do. RPG Maker made it very intuitive and straightforward. It felt nice going from having zero experience/understanding of how the game works, to being able to add in and change what I wanted.
