So, here is my take as an artist.
Yes, as I already said on another post, it's unrealistic to expect your works won't get freely shared and trying to force ways to avoid it will hurt more your paying customers than the people pirating it. But on the other hand, people getting angry because it's not being shared as quickly as possible out of respect and some decency must be either extremely entitled or, and I don't usually like using this word, big time coomers. Seriously, with so much porn available and other things to do in life you can't wait for a month or so to get the latest image set? For free, I might add. Anyway, I feel that as an artist as long as your works have a decent quality and you show that you genuinely love what you are doing, people will naturally want to support you. In any way they can, it doesn't have to be money. Free publicity is very important too.
Which brings me to BA. Honestly, beyond him being so closed off to his fans and apparently petty as hell, him taking down characters for petty reasons lets me know he isn't really that passionate about his own works, probably just doing it for the money and, under that light, his works start feeling soulless. They are already kinda samey and imho the progression of the sex often feels disjointed. It might not have started that way, his earlier sets suggest there was at least some lore and thought put into them, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.
And look, I get it, as someone wanting to make a living from adult art I'm not going to stand here and spout starving artists ideals. Yes, you have to listen to your audience, specially when they speak with their wallets, but if you are truly passionate about what you want to make you have to find a balance. I've been there, I almost got swayed by the loudest groups in the "AVN world" complaining about unrealistic characters and boob size, lost a bunch of time thanks to that. Honestly though, in BA's case it feels like it's just an excuse, I have a very hard time believing Miriam didn't sell well. So, again, him taking her down for a petty reason like some set got shared too early or something like that just tells me he doesn't care about his own content and doesn't make me want to support him. And that's pretty much why I'm making my own version of Miriam as blatantly similar as I want, I'd normally never do that, at least not without asking the original artist first. But if he doesn't care, why should I?
