My guess is he sees VR as a bonus for his subscribers rather than a main draw.
Doesn't matter how he *see's it* in the end.
If you're making content that is quite literally technology device limited to use. It doesn't matter if it's secondary to your primary content. Not bothering to advertise to that niche market (which in general is feverishly obsessed with getting what content is available and supporting creators who make it) is akin to having a Coffee shop that sells high quality herbal tea also. But you have to go into the shop to ever find out.
I legit only know BlobCG does VR because of other subscribers & content piracy.
