well lucky for us, the games you mentioned all actually release new chapters, so you won't have to wait long

i think moonripple is the most exciting for me. the tone is so far striking the perfect balance of fun/sexy. and my new girlfriend is after that. that game is much crazier and fast paced but it's a nice change from the glut of slow burn games we had for a while

but both of these games have very specific and consistent art styles. i don't think blurring the walls is even close, even after the remaster

the way her face is flat and 2D but her boobs have a 3D effect just looks off. it's not BAD, and i still love the overall anime style, but it's not in the same league of the other games where the whole art style feels completely cohesive

this is why i think the reaction to the remaster is going to be poor. the market shifted underneath tori while he took too long, and his skills just aren't at the same level. he had a head start, but just got outpaced

in the end it's not a competition and we can enjoy all of them, but tori's pattern of remastering-the-remaster shows signs of the dev panicking
Actually i really like this new art, but i can see im a minory, aniway he notificating in discord weekly right? Someone witch his discord acess please warn when tori say something

i don't know that you're a minority. i would characterize the reaction to the new art as "mixed," which wouldn't be a big deal usually, but after 6-7 months of hype releasing a remaster to "mixed" reviews is probably not what the dev wants

i'm not in discord anymore, so i can't comment on whether or not he is responsive

I say that based on the comments here, i just dont know if most of people dislike, or the people what dislike are louder.

I agree with most of what you're saying especially the change of pace with MNG.

But I don't agree with the outpacing thing. It's more just recency bias. For example let's make a hypothetical scenario that the next chapter for Moonripple Lake and Blurring the Walls 0.6 (not the remaster) drops on the same day and they are the same price and you can only afford one. I think majority would choose BTW at this point in time.

That's kind of how I view the ranking of all these NTS games. Like if all the new versions of other games dropped at the same time with everything else being equal (price, free release date, etc) and you can only afford one, then I'd choose BTW.

in a vacuum, MAYBE, but if you consider developer reputation, i don't think so. not anymore.

the problem with a slow-burn game like BTW is that developer trust matters even more than in a normal eroge. players have to trust that the dev is building to something, and that all the storylines will come together and it will pay off. tori fucking up his releases and pissing off his community means no one has any confidence that these teases are leading to anything. suddenly all benefit-of-the-doubt is gone, and people are much harsher about their judgments.

if you replay 0.5.2 now it's hard not to think about "oh all this teasing is going... nowhere" because you can no longer trust the dev. it clouds enjoyment of the whole game.

I mean there is a valid complaint about him mismanaging communication about release times or how you view his reputation. You can even complain about the art style if you want.

But you absolutely cannot complain about the writing quality and story direction. It's all very coherent and thought out and doesn't feel like he's making stuff up as he goes. He does a good job of establishing certain things early and then tying back to established points later in the story. So everything is clearly planned out in advance. So if there is anything I'm the least worried about this game is that the story/writing isn't adequately building to something.

i'm not criticizing his ability to write it i'm criticizing his ability to release it

i don't think we are ever going to see terrace fuck ayumi because i think the game is mostly abandoned by the dev already. so yes, to me, its likely building to nothing

If he ever just stopped working on it and responding in discord I'd agree. But he is sharing progress each week and if anyone asks questions he responds so I don't believe it's abandoned. It's just slowly being worked on. I view a game as abandoned if the dev goes completely silent. If a game just takes a long time to update then that's fine we just need to wait. Even if it's a year or multiple years it doesn't really affect us. There's plenty of other things to do.

Which I don't mind because like you mentioned we have other games like VR, MRL, and MNG releasing every month. Add on top of that manhwa like Soeun releasing every week. So there's more than enough to do while we wait.

while we wait.
For me it is not a wait issue, since I have so much IRL that I have zero trouble with waiting, but I won't give Tori even cent anymore. It would be better if he just go silent for months than current situation purely for me. Because not matter what we say, he don't care about fans. Even platinum ones. Though he did listen us once recently and piblish his progress, numbers he provided still cannot be trusted, due to his nature. He could just decided to redo any scene on a whim at any moment.

Devs way of things makes me lose all passion, enjoyment, thrill and all other positive feelings towards this project. It is more simple for me just using AI and LORA of Ayumi that I trained to make content I need with her myself.

At least Tori do refunds, but I still regret that I decided start supporting him Platinum since 0.3 update.

I think as far as the genre of NTS focused kinetic/visual novels goes this is one of if not the best available. Most on the market either have 4 guys running a train on your GF by chapter 2 or you have to hold ctrl for 5 mins to see her hug someone. The pacing is good, the scenarios are believable enough and creative. Can't think of much else that comes close (especially none with as much content completed)
Eh, agree to disagree. This is no doubt a good game but there are some events/scenes where the storyline moves laterally without much character development and don't progress the arching story(ies). This could simply be because its a VN and not a book or just another opportunity to build tension/tease. Either way, the game is not without its imperfections.

There are at least a dozen of other high quality games on this website that incorporate realism as well, or better, than this VN. I don't know that any of the other VN's are specifically NTS however. For NTR two of the best games I've played are "A promise best left unkept" and "Turning the page". Those two are exemplary games in their respective niches and feature a Dev with better consistency, writing, and character art...but, again, that's NTR and not NTS.

You guys are all wrong. There are not many NETORASE and I would not compare them. It's better to demand more content and better support all of them.
Blurring the Walls
My New Girlfriend
Netorase Phone
Vulgar Reverie
Lucky Phone
Moonripple Lake
Again, the two best NTR games are not included, "A promise best left unkept" and "Turning the page". Those two games are flat-out better than Blurring the Walls in pretty much every way, but that doesn't mean Blurring is a bad game. It's a good game and has potential to be great. Given the development problems the Dev is alrdy having I find it difficult to believe/expect this game/project to surpass either of those works though...hope I'm wrong !

Brother, both replies you're responding to mentions "NTS" focused games not "NTR". Netorare and Netorase are two different genres so there is no comparison between the games you're bringing up and this game.

i dont know the other one but isn't unkept just Netorare? iirc it's not netorase
his list was netorase, and he explicitly said it was.
you can't just correct him like that lol

still, he did forget Netorase Dreams.

Yeah, that other dude doesn't know what he's talking about, NTR and NTRS are entirely different things that cater to ENTIRELY different tastes.

My Girlfriend Fulfills My Netorase Dreams took my netorase dreams and defecated all over them.. maybe it's because I'm not a sub player in any sense of the word, and situations where the MC either 1) doesn't have sex with the LI, 2) is required to wear a condom whereas others aren't, and/or 3) isn't able to sexually satisfy the LI at all... none of that seems like netorase to me, it seems like NTR disguised as NTRS -- I don't feel any depth, love, or connection in a relationship where the MC isn't having sex with the LI, reclaiming the LI, and having his own sense of agency in that he's dominantly directing the flow of things (which turns on the LI)... sadly most NTRS games are just varying tiers of sub paths, I don't really even know of any that fit the bill I just described and it sucks. I'm really hoping that the "very dom" rewrite path in Netorase Phone is more this kind of thing.
