0.5.30 is out

This is part of the bi-weekly schedule focused on frequent updates rather than longer waits.

If you prefer longer stable updates I strongly suggest you wait it out.

Post:

Another two weeks have flown by! First, a quick apology for the slight delay - the combination of day job responsibilities and extra-busy weekend activities made for quite the challenge to get this one out. Release schedule goal is to resume standard Sunday updates

What's New:

• ~11,000 words (note: not that many separate scenes on this one, this update contains one sex scene, which as per my writing style dictates has to be >5k words ).

• One of the scenes that OG fans have been waiting for. While I couldn't include animations this time around, I'm quite happy with how the static images came out and overall new script direction. But I'm sure it will still need another polish pass to feel 100% and I would like to explore animations at a later stage.

• NEW SPRITES! After taking in your feedback, I've made several improvements to character expressions and overall polish

• New CGs for the "walking home" sequence that felt too empty, in fact, one plays an important role on this update!

• NEW PARALLAX EFFECT - This update trials a shader-based approach that should look better and be more GPU-efficient

• Various fixes and quality-of-life improvements throughout
Can't wait when public release rolls out! I've followed BtW since you posted a link to its page on itch.io on 4chan. (What am I doing with my life... :HideThePain:) I wish to encourage you to keep at the work, Torimiata. Can't wait for us "OGs" to see content that would be completely new even to us.

Update is 10/10 content wise. Unless i'm misremembering, the pool scene seemed to escalate further than the original game, especially with the addition of a sub/dom choice at the end.

Make sure to replay the walk home from meeting Ari as there is new content that is referenced in the pool section.

Be warned that although the pool scene is by no means short, and includes more poses/positions than the original, it is the only major scene for the patch. It's a bulky scene though.

For me, the new parallex effect seemed a bit odd on the 1st photograph scene, but gave nice depth on the 2nd photograph scene, so I'll leave it as a neutral change for now.

Overall it's very well done, but with the 2 week update schedule i suggest people wait 4-6 weeks to bundle at least 2 updates together.

That's where it all started! I'm looking forward to Act 2, there's already a couple of new scenes sprinkled in but the real new stuff will happen there.

Thanks for sticking around since the beginning. Development has had its challenges, but I'm feeling much better with the new foundation. One update at a time!

Good memory - it has been rewritten (I did keep some story beats from OG though). It definitely escalates further now.

Thanks for the feedback on the shader, it's been one of the trickier features to implement, but I'm satisfied with a 'neutral change' considering the performance gains alone. The new system is also more flexible, so I'll likely go back and fine-tune some of the more problematic scenes.

anybody has played it already? its worth to spend the 15 dollars to have it?
I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I'll be straight with you - no single update is "worth" $15 on its own imo.

While this update (11k words, dozen CGs, plus technical improvements) took a lot of effort, you can buy entire finished high-quality games for $15. This is a few scenes long.

Supporting financially a developer should be about believing in the project's direction and wanting to help them continue working on it.

Despite what some users here might suggest, I have always been upfront about this subject if you go back my post history. I have no interest in misleading anyone - development is already difficult as it is without trying to run a Milk business on top.

My supporters make this project possible - I couldn't justify the development commitment without them - but if you approach it like a store transaction, you will end up disappointed.

I haven't played the new update, but this was where I was getting worried because in the previews from a few months ago during the pool scene she didn't even look at the mc, so I'm hoping that happens can anyone confirm for me without spoiling the update?

Some of the heros felt disappoint about previous update . Maybe thats why they might have thought it is not worth to sub and leak this release .
I was subbed to his patreon for a while and tbh it's not really worth it lol this remake is just ridiculously slow that we haven't even caught up to the original.

I'll re-sub if we ever get the mythical 6.x version (probably 2028 at this point lmfao)

i was subbed before the rework phase thinking it was the best dev here....
now 15 dollars for a monthly update that ive already played seems poor to me

if i were the leaker i will leak it just for that.. until we have the 6.0 version the content has to be released on day 1 for all, as I supported this part of the game already in the past

I really enjoyed it and its why I supported Tori but the way he milked this remake is just ridiculous lol

Like someone few pages back pointed out how we are barely in like the 3rd page of the original gallery, that means 7 more pages of milking until we get 6.x.

Using gallery pages as a progress metric isn't accurate - the remake has restructured content and added many new scenes/CGs not in the original.

The remake currently contains over 70,000 words, with story progression now at day 3 (dinner time). For timeline reference, 0.6 starts on day 4 at night, and we're very close to reaching the content from 0.4.2 (the update before the party content).

This is a complete remake, not a remaster. I'm rebuilding everything from the ground up with new systems, improved artwork, and better script. (You can also see how many iterations it took to get this right by comparing the early "new" art to the current quality level.)

Updates are released consistently every two weeks. If anyone feels the value isn't there, I'm happy to provide refunds - I've never wanted anyone to feel obligated to support the project.

For those interested in the project's direction, I welcome feedback on any of the new content or features.

Development continues, with the next update coming in less than 2 weeks as scheduled.

So... Since the remake has added many new scenes/CGs not in the original, does that means that Page 3 on the remake would be even lower on the original? Then it need way more than 7 pages until the remake reaches the original?
