The timeline has been explained sooooo many times.
It wasn't even 8 months, and I continued active development even during months where I
paused Patreon charges due to uncertainty. Throughout this period, I also posted regular progress updates.
What actually happened is pretty straightforward:
- What began as a simple art remaster evolved into a more complex remake when I saw the opportunity to improve the story and art.
- Switching to a new tech stack required way more adaptation than initially expected. I fully admitted that and anyone who saw the early samples versus the final product can see that evolution.
- The "it's close" comments were true for the original scope. But when I decided to expand into a full remake the timeline naturally extended and I underestimated the amount of work it would take. It's easy to look at the final result and wonder why it took so long but there was a lot of exploration to get to where it is now.
I understand some supporters set their own expectations without knowing the challenges involved. That's why I've always offered refunds to anyone who feels disappointed.
I still visit this forum because I enjoy reading your story theories, appreciate the constructive feedback, and some posts are genuinely funny - but I'm not gonna take the hate seriously, especially after so many months on the same topic.
If you were a OG fan I still hope you get to appreciate the remake but I'm not here to force you - I understand some will always prefer OG - however, game is healthier than ever and I'll keep focusing on making the game better with each update.
