Have you ever considered that if "Bones" had worked at a faster pace, the game would have been completely different? I mean, it would probably be a very different game.I'm not trying to praise the slacker in any way, but I just wanted to share my thoughts. I have noticed that most of the games I enjoy the most are either abandoned or have been dragging out updates for years like in this one.

It's easier for you than anyone else here. To search for your favorite games, you can simply enter the tag abandoned...;)

Time doesn't change ideas. There might be some differences but the overall experience would mostly be the same, like an idea he thought would work but later went against it could be in the game or a idea he came up with later might not have been added to the game. But it would not be completely different, since it's the same person coming up with the idea so eventually that person would think of the thing and a good chance they would still add or subtract it.

tl;ns;dr - A faster pace would only change when a idea would have graced a game, not necessarily if a idea graces a game. So no, there's no silver lining to him being a scummy, lazy bastard.

I will say again that I do not justify his pace and the way he delays updates is disgusting. But what if this particular idea could not be implemented otherwise? So bones literally has to be who he is in order for the game to turn out the way everyone likes it?

That is, there's no other way to implement the idea than by delaying the update for the next year or two?
Is he planning new Marvel universe?
Or did Dr. Bones get himself entangled in a time-space loop while trying to connect the events of 100 years ago (with Doyle, his mother and sister) and the events of the modern owners of the estate?
Simply because of creative burnout (this happens when development is delayed) and realizing that he can't implement the ending in a way that won't disappoint fans who were enchanted by the beginning of the game, he simply abandoned its development. And so that the flow of donations doesn't dry up, he occasionally throws in hope for a sequel... That's all...

Listen, unless the system he's using changes or there's hardware issues...what you're asking is pretty much a pointless question.
Did the system change? No, he's still using the same RPG maker system. What wouldn't work 2 years ago won't work now.
Are there hardware issues? No, it's freaking RPG maker. You can run these games on a 10 year old rig.
Are major delays and milking EVER done to the benefit of the players? Vast majority of the time, no. It benefits him and only him.

So the very obvious answer, and man is it obvious, is "No, he's just a scummy, lazy bastard." Do you understand now?
