Yes it is. It is very much dead. Bones himself posted a very telling update comment on Discord where he said that he cannot bring himself to continue working on the Manor.
Sure, it was non-committal either way, but if any supporter of his whines about there being no update, he can point to that comment to say he never intended to finish.

Known bugs:
- Diary can only be opened from your inventory
- Some doors only open if you click the tile in front of them
- Diary text is off centered in 2x version
- Some character bubbles are scuffed (Luciles morning and shower icons)
- Save is randomly locked at times (this always fixes itself before it becomes a problem for me)

Bones knows what the concerns are about his game: He isn't working on it, and he lies about the work he isn't doing on it. Rumor also has it that he bans people from his discord who present those concerns with any degree of pushback.
There is nothing to be gained from engaging with him as if he were a good-faith actor, and at this point, I suspect few people here want to.

ETA: Bones has an active account here at f95Zone. He isn't banned, and I suspect he even reads this thread from time to time. He chose to stop posting here, because he didn't like it when other posters tried to talk about their concerns with him. Any lack of engagement with those concerns is on him.

Thing is, he had quite a bit of money to help him along that. Money that other people facing the same issues just don't have and still have to trudge along.

He definitely doesn't want to quit. Getting money that is. So he's setting everyone who continues to give him money as suckers:

There it is. Yeah, he'll be around to collect his paychecks. He'll get to work as soon and as often as he can, which means he will or he won't. It just doesn't matter in the slightest because he's already given himself an excuse, while giving hope to all his supporters.

Sure "if you're mad about the delays, stop donating." Right. Thing is, he doesn't want people to stop donating, but he wants to have a post he can fall back upon when people call him out on the lack of updates.

There's one thing that he hasn't apologized for, however, and you should definitely note this: He did not apologize for lying. He lied through his teeth about his odyssey with kidney stones.
Did he get them? Sure, it's possible. I'm not going to deny that it's a possibility.
Are kidney stones pleasant? Of course not. You try to get rid of them asap.
Can you live with kidney stones? You can, but it's painful and you want to schedule getting rid of them asap.
Did he get rid of those kidney stones asap? You can bet he did.
And then he lied that he still has them, but somehow is still trying to work despite them and apparently it's not the only thing that he's preoccupied with.

THAT is the big issue. But hey, two days later he posted an update and all is well!

Or not necessarily. He got motivated and will come back with a vengeance... But that's as non-committal as you can get while being so gushing with optimism at the same time.

When he misses a couple more release dates, he'll just fall back to the first post and defend himself and say that he never actually intended to continue.

Don't get me wrong. I love this game. I'd love for it to continue. I'm just not getting my hopes up.

Dude... are you paying him? If so, just cancel your subscription and that's all.

hell i liked the game but then when there was no stuff for a long time yea people get mad.

Another poster noticed it was down on Monday. I'm sure if we went over on his discord we would get a straight answer from Bones as to what was going on.
