I have no idea how rpgmaker games work but how hard would it be to add mechanics like mouse movement and fast forwarding? I'm struggling to enjoy this after being so used to daily lives of my countryside, would I basically have to remake the whole game to add those two features?

Its possible to implement those 2 features with puglins, but the mouse one its a tricky one cause the puglin could start messing with other puglins and even events depending how the game is structured, so it would be faster to remake the game in a more recent rpg maker engine.

"Puglin"...is that a new species of troll or elf? Sorry just messing with you...when I first read it my brain read it as plugin then kinda went - whats wrong with that word?

ended up actually finding out that TrialRagnarok has gotten a mouse puglin to work and released a "rodent edition". others have also mentioned converting it to MZ/MV before but the scripts are the hard part. I really don't understand why the dev used such an old ass version of rpgmaker, with him being the artist you'd think he'd want his work to shine at a higher resolution than what we got.

I'm surprised how many "remasters" Big Brother has gotten meanwhile this game hasn't been touched, despite being more popular (atleast on this site).

big brother is 3d. You just need blender and the models. This has drawings and they are not easy or cheap. AI still sucks hard.

well I ended up spending the night getting a somewhat working build going in MZ. I upscaled the images a bit too much which in return zoomed the map out more than I'd like. But besides that and a few minor script changes, it's going easier than I expected. The difference is a game changer for me, not just visually but also the movement and dialogue are way smoother.

I like the look of the map better, comparing it, the original seems a bit claustrophobic haha

As for the art, yeah, I wondered why submit yourself to the natural aliasing VX Ace puts on top, the attempt to port it showed me the images are in a better resolution than they seem, it's just the engine that shrinks them and creates the aliasing cause they are too large to begin with.
