Because it's RPG Maker, and their default window size is 800x600. Make it bigger with F6, although the graphics don't scale, so they're going to have aliasing regardless.

Currently there seems to be no effect of it. I don't recall if the Doc said anything about it but the idea I have is that it's a small hint of where the game COULD be heading. As in, Doyle (or maybe his dead relatives?) could be influencing the family members, maybe to take control of them? Who knows, really. Unless the story keeps developing, we won't know for sure.

if i rember right doyle could not enter the mc's body with out his concent so the same would go for his famaly member's. also if i rember right the mc's mother said that her family owned the house witch mean's doyle could be family too.

Well, Doyle wasn't powerful enough BEFORE becoming visible and since his goal has certainly changed since the 1st meeting, I wouldn't necessarily discard the possibility of him being able to overpower David or any of the family members, even if just a little at a time. Remember that even Martha says that "The Manor is weird" or something like that, implying that the building might have a certain influence to what's happening between her and David. Of course, we can attribute it to their relatives (Doyle and his mother and sister) and the type of relation they had, so one could say it "runs in the family".

one more thing...why is it my progress never saves ever with any game like these? i literally cant ever go back to where i left off, and starting over is..well..annoying.

Quick question... are you running the game from within the compressed file? If so...
Now, also make sure the game isn't in a folder where you need admin. rights to launch it AND that there are no special characters in the path (ie. "C:/Games/#15/Burger King's Foot Lettuce/The Manor#$%&").
Also just to check, open the menu, click on Save, then check where the "game.exe" file is located, there should be a "Save01" or something. If it isn't, then most likely you have are doing one of the three scenarios above.

Funny enough, I remembered this comment and I was bored as fuck so I decided to try it out. Granted, I'm a massive ignorant cunt when it comes to RPGM, so I wasn't really expecting it to work as easily given the amount of custom sprites and whatnot and me still being lazy af to resize everything cause fuck that, it's 5k+ files, ain't nobody got time for that! And the resizing doesn't seem to be "oh, 2x so use an upscaler", there are little changes here and there in pixels (so TL;DR no thanks).don't NTR the dog! ... hahahaha ^^ But i like the way you think
Now to topic. There is an easy transfer method from RPGM ACE to RPGM MV ... only problems would be the resizing of the Pics and Tilesets. I think Dr. Bones has his images in higher resolution so that wont be a problem. I really dont get it because his new "Patreon-friendly" Game is on MV

I got to say, the images look to have good enough quality as they are, the aliasing is something to do with RPGMVXAce (probably because the images are higher res than 800x600, iouno). So here, a "comparison" despite the fact my backwoods bootleg of a port to MV makes it look like this guy did it:

I did NO changes to the images already in the game (the original in VX Ace) but they look way better even if the image in itself it's not properly to the side, the text box has no transparency and all the other adjustments the Doc has done so... yeah, there ya go, I guess? Maybe I'm just stupid and/or have no patience to try a proper porting, even as a side side hobby.
