RPGM Bones' Tales: The Manor [v0.30.3 Hotfix] [Dr Bones]

From what I've seen on the Discord, he has had on multiple occasions state that he would have a stream, but then wouldn't do it. The last stream was early in September if I remember correctly. I spoke with him about the next update, and I had told him that all he really needed to do was to implement all the scenes that he already finished (I was present for the streams, he made A LOT of content that wasn't added to the 0.30+ updates). He said that's what he intends to do and is still actively working on the stream, he also admitted to be having issues with depression, and that's causing him to become so inactive, his activity on the Discord server has absolutely nose dived, in fact general activity seems to be much lower, with only the more active and commonly seen users keeping things going somewhat. I myself have dropped my activity by about 99% haha

Either way, if there is a stream, I'll try to be present for it and take screenshots and share whatever information I get here, as I have in the past. Check out my old breakdown post as it will contain some screenshots for scenes that are likely to appear in the next update.

Making that amount of money how can the dude be depressed? I'd love to make 7k+ in a month. Also, my father worked with kidney stones.Neither are a good excuse.

He should focus on the incomplete content first and add new shit later imo.

If I remember correctly some of the content that he made will fill in some of those unimplemented scenes. But honestly, I don't mind if those scenes remain unimplemented as long as new content comes out within a reasonable ratio of quality, quantity and time.

If hadnt spent weeks upon weeks updating the cut-ins and a pac-man game no one asked for, maybe he would've had the update out before the end of summer, guy has big plans, just not the drive to see it done in a timely manner

By the cut ins do you mean those things that would flash across the screen and show something, such as Martha taking off her top? I can understand criticisms on priorities but this is still a videogame rather than a porn comic so certain elements being improved upon is reasonable.

Even the Discord users are fairly chatty about the subject when it pops up. They even write about it between each other in the primary chatroom.

I'm not entirely surprised that this triggered soon after the update was released, I suppose the pressure of trying to redeem himself and then, honestly speaking, fumbling it to a degree got to him. He did have self admitted performance anxiety leading up to update 0.30, so I suppose whatever carryover emotions from that pushed him over the edge alongside the rough update release.

A serious dev would work in the unimplemented content from day 1 first before adding new content and not the other way around never,just look at Naughty Turtle Kamesutra game for example he was adding new shit while a lot of content from day 1 is still incomplete and guess what that game is currently a mess just like this one so no that's not the way.

I've been following this game for a while now and I don't know why people don't unsubscribe. The guy never once met his deadline. Updates are sporadic and inconsistent, not to mention the disappearing content they bring, for example, two new animations and one rework, and it took him 5 months. The guy has talent. The animations are nicely done "for a game of this type." He somehow created a story that's enjoyable to play, but what good is that if you just ignore your own work?

Well I never heard of that other game so I can't exactly compare it with The Manor, but from what I know about The Manor, the quantity of not implemented scenes isn't significant, and even though they've been around for a long time, the game hasn't had any more 'not implemented' scenes added. So I wouldn't consider it to be too extreme of an issue.

Well I never heard of that other game so I can't exactly compare it with The Manor, but from what I know about The Manor, the quantity of not implemented scenes isn't significant, and even though they've been around for a long time, the game hasn't had any more 'not implemented' scenes added. So I wouldn't consider it to be too extreme of an issue.

At the end of the day he should have work on those scenes before adding new content to the game either a rework or a complete new version of the scene not just leaving all there incomplete that's the point of this , if he did it with a lower quality back in the day well at least he finished it but that's not the case not even close , no wonder why the game is in the state it is, his priorities absolutely affected the game now new bugs shows up so yes that's incompetence dude.

If he wasn't planning on just stalling the game to milk as much as he can, then yes it's incompetence. All of this is supposed to be planned and that includes increases of art style quality over time. Which is why you see more competent devs seek to finish their games first and foremost and touch up on older stuff either as they go or after the game is done. (as they go means, inserting changes alongside new stuff...not stopping progress to insert changes)

A good example is the dev of M.W.O. games. They weren't satisfied with their first game but finished it anyway. When they completed their 2nd game, their drawing skills increased and they figured out the parts they wanted to improve on in the first game, so they remade it. After their 3rd game, again they weren't satisfied with parts of the 2nd game so again they remade those parts. Even better, those first versions of the games were free. Only after making the remake of the games did they decide to charge for them and this was before ci-en became a thing.

Another good, yet bad, yet good example is dot kobo (.kobo). Made 3 games using a certain 90's-ish artstyle, changed their art direction after their 3rd game. Immediately remade 3rd game (among releasing additional games) to fit new art style and new combat style, over time remade the 1st game using new art style and combat style and is in the midst of remaking 2nd game. Now if only they stop trying to make all-ages games that keep the H just moving it off-screen......and give us Busters 2 already...

what I'm going to comment will be controversial, but I find it funny that everyone criticizes and demands the developer when they are in a piracy forum and therefore do not pay anything for the game, and no, I do not defend the developer, in fact I think the same as all of you but I am not a hypocrite why should I criticize or ask things from someone to whom I am not giving a single dollar for their work? if someone has the right to criticize and demand the developer, it is their sponsors and if you who are reading this are a sponsor of the developer, make your money worth it, you have every right to demand things from the developer but anyway, I am not going to waste my time criticizing the developer or asking for things since as I said I do not pay him anything.
