Got a "D3D11: Failed to create render texture, error 0x80070057
1. Your game may be damaged, which may be related to downloading or decompression. Of course, sometimes, virus protection software may cause decompression errors.
2. You'd better put the game on a separate hard drive instead of the desktop or run it in a ZIP.
3. I don’t know if your computer has the “basic runtime library” fully installed, or if it “uses a castrated system.” I used a “castrated system” before, which caused me to be unable to run games such as “RoboCop”.

An example of the system mentioned in point 3 would be Tiny11 or Tiny10 which is Windows 11/10 without a lot of the bloatware and Microsoft stuff forced in

The specific situation is as follows:
I downloaded a system based on WIN10 Professional Edition and found that almost all U engine-based games cannot be played. Fallen King and RoboCop are examples.
According to the requirements, I found that my WIN10 cannot install updated firmware. Yes, there is a basic problem with this system. So it's not suitable for gaming at its roots.
As for Lord of the Fallen, it was because of a conflict between my 3090TIAMD GPU and my 13th generation IN CPU that I had to use various methods to correct the damn evil of U5 and "Tencent's EPIC". For details, please refer to the related "Fatal Error Issue" discussion on STEAM.
Today, my friend's laptop also couldn't run this game. I found out that it might be related to the graphics card driver. His driver was a mini version and was forced to run under DX12, which caused a conflict with this game. I had to install and adjust it. Only DX and graphics card drivers can enter the game normally.

On EndeavorOS with plasma kde, i'm having a few graphical glitches after applying this, with the first being the unity logo flashing
This is an official, unmodified player extracted from the Unity engine. In simple terms, if the developer had exported the game for 64-bit, these files (player and libraries) would have been placed by the engine in the game folder. In theory, the problem could be that the patch version (which includes only backward compatible fixes) of these binaries is higher than the game's (Unity only provides links to the latest patch releases). But then the problem would also occur on my Arch, which does not happen. It would be interesting to check if you have this problem with the 32-bit version (without replacing files). But in any case, the only thing you could try is to find any game compiled with an identical version of the engine (including the patch version), and take the player from there.

I confused this game with another one, this one has the same patch version of the game and the player. So I don't even have any guesses what could be wrong...

Sounds like you did mess something up with your system by trying to correct U5 (which I assume you mean Unity) and EPIC. I have a 4060ti and Ryzen 5600x and never have any issues, even if I use a GPU driver that is a couple versions behind. I'm also not sure which "Fatal Error Issue" discussion you're referring to, as there's over 12k pages of search results in Steam discussions.

Also sounds like whatever system you downloaded that you say is based on Windows 10 Professional Edition not being suitable for gaming at its roots, maybe not the best idea to use if you plan to play games. It's possible to get it to be able to play games, but it will require a lot of work and installing a lot of things.

As for your friend's laptop forcing DX12, it is possible there were no files for DX11 installed on the laptop, and installing that can be done (safely) only by going to and following instructions there. I'm also not sure what you mean by the driver being a mini version, unless you mean it's the bare necessities needed for the GPU to work, in which case it would cause errors.

Overall, sounds like most of the issues come from user error in installing non-ideal or non-optimal operating systems for playing games that use DirectX, and installing modified graphics drivers instead of official drivers that have all the features needed.

Ok, so update on the no launch issue. I downloaded the game from the main site through Mega on my wife's PC (Intel versus my AMD) and had literally zero issues working. So I check the BIOS between them and the virtualization, hyper threading (whatever AMD calls it) ReSize Bar and 4G Decoding are all enabled on both machines. I'm still at a loss.

Shouldn't be an issue with AMD since I have AMD, so it really does have to just be something wrong with your system, maybe something happening with the antivirus removing a file from the game somewhere.

Had same issue with early game versions. Reinstalled OS and i`ts fixed that(and other games bugs).
