I have some sad news to share. As people probably noticed, there hasn't been any updates. The reason for this is that my hard drive malfunctioned and it's completely unusable. Because of that, all of the project files for Bound By Blood are gone.
Reinstalling the engine and the HS2 assets isn't the hard part, it's the characters. Recreating and redesigning them from scratch would be a huge task, and I'm not sure what the future holds. I might try to rebuild the characters and keep going, or I might take this as a chance to shift direction and start something new. I'll keep you all updated once I figure out my next steps.

That's sad to hear, damn that'd be a shame if this would be abandoned, but I personally would understand.Godspeed on the future endeavors.

oof .... big oof... if you decide to go to a new project perhaps keep the world and lore so as to save yourself some time just set it elsewhere so we dont bump into existing characters
Hey everyone, quick follow-up to yesterday's announcement, and this time it's actually good news.
So… it turns out my hard drive wasn't dead after all.
It was the SATA cable.
Yeah… one tiny cable caused the BIOS to freak out and made me think the entire drive was toast.
After the announcement last night I got frustrated, started troubleshooting out of spite, and when I swapped the cable… everything worked perfectly. All my files are there. Project is intact. Characters are safe. No data loss at all.
It's a little embarrassing to have a miracle fix literally the next day, but honestly I've never been happier to be wrong.
Work on the game will continue right away.

Something I have wanted to do for some time is completely rework the MC model. Because yeah.. As some have pointed out already, the MC isn't the most beautiful looking guy. This was something I was working on before the hard-drive problems and would like some input on. What do you all think?
The plan is to go back and rerender the scenes with MC's face in it. I have all the poses saved so this won't take too long. But I think it's important to ask what yall think, are you attached to the current MC model or would you guys appreciate this update?

Thank you! I've learned a lot since I first started. I wanted the MC to be unique when I first made him, which he was, but I realized he also didn't look very appealing about half way through. I tried to improve his appearance along the way, but honestly, I think I might have made it worse. Funny enough, it was actually your discussion with someone else that helped me decide to make this change.

As someone who has kept this on watch and hasn't played any versions yet I feel like I can offer a less biased opinion.
It looks like a young adult was replaced for a 13 year old oddly fluent in Spanish. Were this face looking back at me on the first post I never would've clicked that watch button.
Thanks for the feedback! I've noticed the same thing, and I'm already making adjustments to give him a slightly older and more mature look. That said, the decision has been made and I'll be moving forward with the new model. I appreciate you sharing your thoughts.

Looks interesting, and I want to try, but after looking through the thread and seeing we can't romance Mommy, it does make me a bit sad. She looks good from the photo I saw.
Maybe I'll still try this out, but seems doubtful with no incest with her. Just a little letdown, cause other girls in previews look good and story sounds interesting, just sad about no mom love.

I hear you, and I want to be upfront. While incest isn't currently part of the game's plan, I haven't ruled it out. There is a real chance I may explore that option later in development, or possibly add it as an optional patch after the full release.
I just can't promise anything, but it's definitely something that I might consider later on.
