honestly.. the only things this game needs to remake are more on the system level, such as being able to view a bunch of events very much out of order so a lot scenes should definitely have more pre-requisites. The phone also barely works and it's happened multiple times that it displays a notification that there's a new text and then there just isn't one, or it's for a contact I don't have or something, maybe also part of the scenes out of order issue.

The sudden switch to HS2 is a mad move... the dev needs least learn how to use it properly, instead of randomly changing the game's style mid-story.

Not to mention the hs2 swap looks horrid. Stick with HS1 until the story is finished, and maybe fix the current visuals before going to an entirely new game.

This reminds me of when the Twisted World dev completely randomly decided he was going to redesign all his characters and reboot/remake the game, ruining the game's style and vibe in the process, the excuse was that everything was now more high-quality, in the end, he ended up stagnating the project, add to that the fact that the Dev basically insulted his fans when they complained, lol.

The previous example may be exaggerated since nothing has happened here yet, but the changes in the uploaded demo were quite radical, you're not going to instantly make everyone like redesigned characters that look nothing like the old ones, even if they look a little better visually, the problem is that people who get hooked on these games do so because the characters end up growing on them, even if some parts of the game look a bit crude, people accept that and end up seeing it as part of the characters, you're only going to earn rejection from a portion of the fans if you change so many things.

The mistake of the Twisted World Dev was that instead of "improving" his old characters, he decided to change them completely, removing all their previous charisma, in addition to adding a bunch of weird fetishes that nobody asked for (probably some whale did), in any case, I don't understand why these Devs don't finish their games and then release sequels taking advantage of the solid base they got with the first game, in the sequel they can make all the changes they want lol.

Man i really love this game, it is extremely lewd, but with the hs2 engine change, it'll become even more lewd...

Honestly, the koikatsu part of the hs2 engine demo could be standalone game by itself, i miss koikatsu engine and it is extremely good too

A lot of really good games go this route. To be honest, I want to call occam's razor and say it's just an excuse for them to make something new while not needing to finish their old project and keeping their Patreon supports in the process, but something tells me the people who tend to make these kinds of games are perfectionists that feel the need to constantly be changing things for better or worse. That's seen pretty clearly here, starting with touching up some old animations, to now making a full on remake.

This is not quite a remake though, the game is not being remade. The game will continue from where it is now with the Honey Select 2 models. Honestly, i'd treat it more as a sequel than a remake.

Which in my opinion is much worse than the developer just remaking the whole thing. It would be like a TV series starting a new season with all of the established characters (which the audience has gotten to know over the course of several previous seasons) being played by an entirely new cast of actors for no apparent reason. It just completely fucks up all sense of continuity and consistency!

This kind of fuckery is a major red flag for me, and for just about anyone else with a sense of pattern recognition, in that it indicates an extremely poor level of dedication and focus for the developer. I'm extremely glad I never gave a single cent to him; the atrociously low quality of the writing alone was enough to put me off from doing that to begin with, in fact.

I guess we'll see. This guy's known for saying one thing and do another. I hope you're right, and I hope I get to see what comes of it within 6 months (lol. lmao).

I think part of the blame can also be attributed to the fear they probably have of losing their entire audience for not being able to start a new project or losing part of their community (Which ironically ends up happening when they make changes as big as these), whether they earn a lot or a little, when they start to see profits they desperately cling to the same project for years, I assume that's why when a whale appears and asks them to include Ntr or some weird fetish, they end up accepting and so many projects end up ruined because the Dev strayed too far from the original project, when they notice that they are reaching that point is when they should finish their projects, but we already know that they don't do it haha.
