LMAO wait another year. Finally got a new update and its just Mayhew crap and more expansion of lore.
He is quite important though, basically he sets himself as the center of the story, give or take, and practically the one who kickstarts the whole thing. At least his presence doesn't overshadow the rest of the cast

But I think we could use a few more women character, just to expand the world and those are involved a bit more, but it's just me I guess

Okay but the updates are also too slow to check back regularly.
If you're playing for the story, you're going to need to wait several years for enough progress to have payback on the development of storylines/romance endings.
If you're paying for the hot story/CGs, you're going to have to wait several years too, for the developer to eventually get around to making your favorite scenarios with your preferred characters.

Like I did not look at this game for an entire year and when I checked back, there was nothing except more lore and hints at a larger/global order. Let's face it, for a game that's been in the making for 4 years now, the progress is glacial.

At this rate the game would realistically take 15+ years to finish. Sooner or later, there is going to be an inevitable development in the creator's life, like kids or a husband or financial difficulties that will stop the game altogether.

Sorry if I'm being pessimistic.

Considering what I know about / from the dev that he published in discord, I think the game will be finished much earlier. Sure, don't expect to have it this nor the next Christmas :)

you are basically describing 80-90% of the ongoing games on this website. For various reasons (the business model, the often one-person dev team, limited resources, etc) this is how these games are, so at a certain point one has to decide that it's here first and foremost for the ride.

Making VNs is not that easy I presume. And I can somewhat relate; I usually won't play demo version of a game until it has a signficant amount of content. I've known Bound by Night for a few years, but I only started to play it recently, and already love it. If you ask me, while waiting, you can just play other games. It's what I do while waiting for the updates of my favorites~

And from what I've seen around on Discord, the dev is at least consistent with their work so I'm not too bothered. It can't be updated regularly like once a week, or once a month maybe, but at least there's something, even just a little. And making good games, stories, graphics and all, it needs time. I'd rather have them take their time developing and fixing the games with good results rather than rushing at cheetah speed but the quality is subpar. There's no doing fast with good results I think. Not in this case, especially because the story is quite lengthy and there are many characters involved

Just relax~

*Gay Games in particular. I understand reality, and that most gay games often have to sacrifice quality or length to make up for it because of the lack of funding/consumers.
