Not entirely true.Till now only with husband but in her thoughts with Justin
Perhaps Tyler doesn't loves his wife and is plotting on how to get someone to steal herCurrently playing and the game seems great with great potential. Tyler seems angry with the MC for no reason and it seems i missed one scene with him. Guess chosing loosing morality and being corrupt does that, hehe.
To me, it's a pretty common trope for FMC's spouses. The spouse is single-mindedly focused on bettering their career and getting more money, in order to better the life of their spouse/family (MC/player). At best they can provide for them, but are mentally and emotionally absent and the stress wears them down so they are bitter/angry at not being appreciated. At worst, they struggle without ever getting ahead and they get bitter/angry at their failure. Meanwhile the FMC just wants their spouse to be there for them, and generally could care less about the money obsession. It's an easy way, within a game's lore, to justify 'stepping out' on him. "Look at how bad he's treating her, he deserves this!" or something to that effect.Currently playing and the game seems great with great potential. Lack of ambition & being a doormat would never make a chick look for 'greener pastures'To me, it's a pretty common trope for FMC's spouses. Assuming I'm reading all the conversations with the right tone, which can be hard in translated games, Tyler is a master of backhanded comments. In one of the kitchen scenes he gets really bitter because she dares to only make a cup of coffee for herself and none for him. The travesty, that of course requires a couple of snide comments because she deserves it! Every playthrough I do now, I purposefully only make a cup for Emma... because screw him and his snide/digging comments.![]()
It’s a trope because it is rooted in reality. Lack of emotional support is a big factor in women “stepping out.” The justification is very much *I deserve to be seen and loved!” Validation of being desired also goes hand in hand.To me, it's a pretty common trope for FMC's spouses. Oh don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's inaccurate. It is very much based in reality. It wasn't my intent to say it was a bad trope. I was providing some details on the background of it because they commented that Tyle always seems mad for no reason. There's a reason why it's well used in a lot of successful games, because as you said it's relatable. If Tyler was emotionally available and acted like he wanted/desired her outside the times he expects sex, then she'd like not feel the need to cheat on him. And then we'd have a game that really only has a 'Tyler' path. It's because of his huge deficiencies that really sets up the story as why she can end up looking for affection and desirability with others. It’s a trope because it is rooted in reality. Going to a bar, THEN finding out you don't want to be there, isn't really the same thing as just not going to the bar at all. The 2 decisions speak differently about a person and who they are.Dev, if you're going to make content avoidable why not make it completely avoidable? She could've declined the bar and just been dropped off at home then you skip the pointless conversations and dance that are never going to lead anywhere. Just a thought.
