Braveheart Academy 2 - Breath of Fresh Air!
Hey everyone!
After 19 months on pause (Since December 2023!), I'm officially "rebooting" Braveheart Academy 2, not by reworking characters or renders, but by giving the whole game a fresh coat of paint and ironing out those early struggles you told me about. From the moment you open the game you’ll be greeted by our new intro animation, and a papercraft inspired new art direction.
Every menu, tooltip, and button has been rebuilt around a streamlined art direction. I distilled our palette down to a handful of scrapbook-worthy pastels & whites and chose a sketch-like font.
Behind the scenes, I wanted to change many things and tackled your feedback head-on.
The goal was to make sure that navigation flows more intuitively, text is sharper and more readable, iconography is consistent (no more mismatched styles!), and animations are snappier without overwhelming your device. To make this much more than just a facelift!
We can’t wait for you to dive back in and feel the difference
Welcome back ♥
I’ve given Braveheart Academy 2’s core systems a serious facelift and code-lift! My goal was a cleaner, more intuitive experience that lets you dive straight into the fun.
- A Weekly Calendar That Keeps Up with You,
I scrapped the old month-at-a-glance view and now deliver your timed events on a rolling, week-by-week schedule every Monday. If you miss an event because you were deep in the Main Story, it’ll slip back into your queue so you never lose out on anything! Because players missing content is not something I want!
I replaced the cramped, clunky phone UI with a single, easy to browse hub. All your incoming messages now sit in one place so you can replay conversations and catch up on Academy news without hunting through tiny menus.
- A Character Driven Gallery Diary,
Gone are the generic buttons. I’ve turned the gallery into a living diary, customized by each character and filled with hand-drawn event sketches. I’ll be pouring my horribly adorable illustrations so paging through your unlocked moments feels like flipping through a scrapbook of memories. These updates come straight from the feedback you shared over the game's updates. I hope they make your return to the Academy smoother and more delightful than ever.
I’ve taken a step back and rethought how VR and Meet N’ Yeet should work in Braveheart Academy 2. In the first game, "Meet N’ Yeet" was based in real life and now that it went full VR it never truly honored its Tinder-style origins. So now, I’m splitting them apart!
- Meet N’ Yeet Returns to Its Roots,
Meet N’ Yeet will be a standalone, swipe-based experience just like the knock-off Tinder it was born to be. You’ll browse real profiles, chat up people, and pursue one-night stands through a clean, intuitive UI outside of VR. No more mixing up fantasy and reality just pure, streamlined matchmaking.
The VR headset is getting a new life, reserved solely for our fictional characters. This space was rebuilt from the ground up to showcase characters you love, that wouldn’t fit inside a dating app.
- Lux Gets a Simplified Makeover,
Your AI companion, Lux, now comes fully loaded no more buying separate outfits or personalities. Instead, Lux’s wardrobe and quirks are packaged together, and in VR each persona animates with its own unique menu transitions. As you play, Lux watches and learns, so her responses and the events she triggers branch in surprising, intimate ways based on how you interact. I’m still polishing the final touches, but this split ensures that Meet N’ Yeet feels true to its swipe right heritage, and VR stays a fantastical playground for the Academy’s denizens.(Mostly you and Kenta)
I can’t wait for you to try both sides of the experience
