I did my best to portray Richard’s story realistically, especially around the construction scenes and settings. It's never easy to create a main character that clicks with everyone, but I’m happy with how Richard turned out. I think he looks great, too.
For those who connect more with his perspective than Layla’s, the next update should make justice for Richard. This time he gets as much screen time as Layla and depth beyond just being the work-focused guy.
A lot of people from the community have asked me about A Heartfelt Visit, so I wanted to make an official statement. I didn’t abandon the game due to financial reasons, and I’m not chasing some quick money scheme. I only worked on it for two months, and it was my first attempt at something like this. I learned a lot during its development, but eventually reached a point where I wasn’t happy with the direction and felt the entire thing needed a rework. As a solo developer with very limited time and resources, I decided it made more sense to invest in a fresh project that felt stronger from the start.
I’m really proud of Breaking Ties and excited about where it’s heading. If I ever return to A Heartfelt Visit, it will be in the form of a full remake, not just an update.
