Quality is hard to assess for any fetish as the things we look for in them vary from person to person, but maybe a more objective approach would be to make the differentiation on how a game handles the BE content? I have observed that some games just treat it as eye candy with no real impact on the story or its surroundings, it's usually those bland games you just play once or have to grind for hours on end only to experience very sparse and superficial growth spurts. But I feel that the most engaging BE games use it as their main theme to drive the story, or at least have creative game mechanics to show how the growth has a direct influence on how the woman interacts with their environment and other characters. This difference determines if I end up enjoying a BE game or not, a good dev or writer will make the jump from a A cup to a C cup the hottest thing ever depending how much flair is added in between.

To simplify things: A tag that refers to if game [has BE] or [is BE] (or maybe Cosmetic BE vs. True BE), and also could be complemented with the sizing category from the Huge Breasts Games Archive without making it more complicated than necessary.
I think those are good ideas, as long as there is also a general grade for how good the game is overall (which, adding a [has BE] vs [is BE] tag would do the job of differentiating). Personally, most of my favorite games do *have* BE, but are often not BE. But that's mostly due to the nature of it being a somewhat niche kink. Everyone's taste probably vary on those different scales, but to me an amazing game, that does have BE in it, would be about as good as a decent game that's focused on BE.

Oh I feel ya. Maybe [Cosmetic BE] and [Focus BE] would be a better choice of tags as I didn't mean to bash on games that just "have BE" in them, but I feel that way too many devs let their games fall into that category by just slaping a few breast sizes without really exploring the fun parts of the fetish. But with an appealing artstyle, animation and interesting game mechanics they can be extremely enjoyable, specially if the boobs get really big!
Games that use it as their main focus however, offer us the rare opportunity to explore this fetish from a deeper angle, as we are given more feedback on how the characters feel about the changes their bodies are going through which is both hot and fascinating.

The only complaint I have for that game is, for all the customized playstyles that was promised on their blog, and that there actually is, there's not really any balance/game over mechanics. You can miss out on the day part if you mess up during the night, but even that doesn't matter. Day gives you free progress without any penalty whatsoever, and the only penalty night time gives you is missing out on the less fleshed out part of the game.

It's been nice looking at the progress the dev has made from one game to another, and it's a bit sad that their big project got put on hold due to lack of funds.

Edit : Ok, messing around with harder difficulty, I think having it harder to raise the mood kinda justifies the daytime stuff a bit better. I still find daytime unbalanced, but I give it a purpose that's not just cheesing the early game.

I agree with [Cosmetic BE] and [Focus BE] tags since it would clear a lot of confusions. Maybe even using them as categories
I would suggest adding an [AI art] tag, since not everyone is interested with AI generated art

One thing i want to write is that im suprised people haven't tipped about text or life sim games more. Sure it's not animated but the text description can be ok to good and some of them update the player visuals to show different sizes.

Clean Slate has a "Breast image" to display current size and its updated to new bust size as the character breasts grows or is expanded. And it has a few forms of expansions that may happen. It's an early version tho and can use more work. Size can reach Z-Cup (there's nothing between K and Z cup tho, probably because of lack of real life porn those sizes?)

Girl Life is another game that has BE. I've yet to try it, but "beyond k-cup" was confimed by one user when i investigated the game.

Accidental Woman has an entire career path (HuCow) focusing on BE and lactation. The path isn't fully developed, but got a fair bit of BE right now with images to reflect size and text to show expansion. There's other methods of BE too such as medicine and surgery.
Size can go to...ridicelous sizes, i think 25,000 CC is the biggest it can go before it ends in game over. It is possible to disable this with cheat menu (i think its the cheat menu). Image wise it needs more variation, the biggest i've seen is Big exercise size when put together could be a small bed.

I was skeptical to these types of games at first (for quite a while), but grew to like some of them now. And i'd like to see people recommend more of these games as i feel we're missing out. Especially since these kinds of games may have Breast Expansion as an actual life style.
These types of games should get a tag or category naturally.

There's a decent amount of those games mentioned in the original post, but I can see why there's not that much of a fuss about them.

I've played a decent amount of text based games and, sure some of them have been nice but, most are usually lackluster in their own ways, and more often than not aren't worth all the tedium to get to anything. Either the art isn't anything special, or the text is very bland, or the game isn't too well fleshed out, there's usually something that stops them from being really enjoyable.

I did enjoy Clean Slate, the content was allright and descriptive enough. But nothing crazy, and I didn't feel like there was much of a reason to do most things. I wouldn't spend any time trying to convince someone to play it if they're not already into text games or just wanna try it.

Girl Life has an interesting setting imo, but if your goal is to play through the BE thing, I haven't really found a good way, and either the game is way too slow, or I never figured out how to progress in that game properly.

Accidental Woman is a whole can of worms all on its own. It's over the top complicated, prone to bad endings and getting stuck if you're not careful (standard difficulty is more likely than not to have your character commit suicide from being too sad), and the paper doll system, while it does look allright, really isn't that great if what you want is BE content. The new Hucow stuff does look promising but, the game is still as slow and tedious as before, and I have a hard time getting invested in all its systems.

Trials in Tainted Space is probably one of the best text based game that includes BE imo. It's main shortcoming is the lack of a paper doll (though there kinda is one now, but without a face is a bit disappointing). The other one might be that, by being so vast, it feels like while there's descriptions about breast sizes, and BE events, it's not exactly a focus. But that's more a side effect of having so much varied content. I still have a pretty detailed document with all the ways to min-max your boob growth related stats, in a logical sense that makes you go through most of the BE scenes instead of just spamming drugs to get your result so, you know... still a great game I think.

I have no problem with text BE but I despise games with photos of porn actors, it kills the immersion

TiTS is an amazing game that features a plethora of kinks, and while I also want to have a more detailed portrait of the MC, it's defenitely an improvement over CoC 1 and 2

Anyone know anything about this game?
I thought it was a Bullet Heaven game, but I think I'm mixing it up with another game.
Either way, it's got expansion, and BE in particular.

Issue with TiTS is that the game went way overboard with futas. I guess to some people that would be considered a good thing, but there's also been quite a lot of us who were disappointed with how CoC was like 5-10% futa and TiTS started out like 10% futa and is now around 50%+, last time I played.
Just went super overboard with chicks w/dicks. As a straight guy, playing the game was like a minefield and I eventually just stopped trying to play the game. New girl? Bulge. Other new girl? Bulge.
I still remember there was this heated argument about the robot you can customize because futa fans got straight-up violent at the thought that anyone would dare make the robot full-female. I don't remember the context for exactly WHY they were so mad though.
Pretty sure that at this point, Fenoxo's "that futa game dev", so most non-futa fans seem to avoid the guy preemptively and now the franchise is surrounded by a constant circlejerk of yes men who metaphorically jerk him off and work as a personal army to defend him.

TL;DR: longwinded complaint boiled down to "Content warning: futas."

I really enjoyed Cursed back in the day, and a few other life sim games. I'll probably spend more time with Accidental Woman, but it feels like a lot of work for little return at the moment if you aren't a huge fan of the writing style/characterization. I would add Summer Growth, which also has a path more focused on breast expansion than muscle growth. It has much less content, but is much more straightforward to actually play, and the clothing system feels more robust (it tracks the fit of your clothing).

Yea i played summer growth a fair deal. Although not perfect it does have a portrait of the player character that reflects the changes done to their body. I don't think the fella behind the mod has covered all bases image\change wise yet, but it's a decent game.

As for "Text games sucks" and some of the critism about certain games, thats fine. People are different with different tastes, i can respect that. But it's because of that all kinds of BE games people think is good should be given a mention here.

As for Accidental Woman and clean slates (and other life style game i probably tried) i usually don't make it hard on myself.
If it's too grindy i usually skip the game, but it just so happens both AW and CS allows the player to both cheat and customise their experience so getting to the BE part isn't very hard or grindy. Granted it's more for people who like that kind of gameplay.

Either way i should probably look at the original post again, maybe there's some gems in there that i missed back when text\life style games didn't catch my eye.
