Since I actually work in a QC, I'm gonna talk like that. That means, if it goes unsaid, it's fine.

First off: Controls, controls, controls. After smashing random buttons on the keyboard, I was finally able to engage the first NPC in dialogue. Where is the introduction to controls? I've discovered the controller works, but nothing to engage/deactivate. Can you use a controller? I spent the first half-hour discovering which buttons do what and I'm still no closer to playing the game. If this releases on STEAM, the players are gonna tear the creators a new hole.

The UI switches back and forth. The mouse controls the camera, until you're speaking with someone. Stay consistent.

2nd: Too much, too soon. The first NPC has a BOOK's worth of information and most of it is irrelevant. It's a porn game, not a college dissertation. No pervert wants to read that much, yet alone a casual gamer. It'd be a lot more fun to just be guided through a "capture" (or whatever) than running aimlessly.

3rd: Game mechanics. The option to engage in sexual intercourse is available from the start, but the requirements are not clearly outlined. Not enough... Well, how do you get XXX?? Money, lust, etc? Is there a bar telling me how much I have? I see the red thing in the top left, but it never moves.

4th: Where's the map? Is there a map? Why isn't there a map? If there is a map, why is it so hard to find?

5th: I was blocked from sex, because I had Futa turned off. Why isn't there an option to engage in such relations if the option exists? Is the game gonna be un-completable because of personal fetish?

6th: Sound. It's sporadic. Some creatures moan. Some don't. It's weird. Again, be consistent. Give each creature sex sounds or don't at all. It's been found that games with sounds for pure dialogue has engaged the audience more than none. Okami, springs to mind.

7th: Transitions. Are the worst. After a few scenes of intercourse the MC returns (naked, is there an inventory screen? or are we doomed to remain naked?) immediately as if nothing occurred at all. Consequences. There are none. The short girls on top of the barrel. Most of her dialogue is complaining about NOT getting the D*. You can give her the D*, but it changes nothing.

It's really not all that uncommon for games to lose camera control when talking to an npc, fallout does it, mass effect does it, most bioware games do it. I've never used a controller for this and for where the game is I would not recommend using one.

I'm having a hard time figuring out how you missed the UI, it has all the information you need even if it isn't so clearly outlined, it should be possible to deduce what everything means through gameplay. If you see a weird icon and a big number on the screen that goes up and down when you buy and sell something it's a pretty safe bet that it is a currency. Yes it's vague but the UI isn't final, when the UI is complete it will either be more informative at a glance or come with more instructions. Red bar = lust which you lose when you lose surprise sex, breed with your creatures or have them breed with one another, you recover it by sleeping or winning surprise sex. Blue bar = spiritual energy for transforming into monsters that you have captured, I haven't used it much but it decreases when you transform and increases when you have sex with Leylanna or other blessed ones but for less recovery.

4th: Where's the map? Is there a map? Why isn't there a map? If there is a map, why is it so hard to find?

There is no map in game, you have to refer to the wiki for it right now. The world isn't finished so a map takes a lower priority, there's also going to (eventually) be a progression of the world, so you won't be able to go anywhere you want right away like you can right now.

Derelict has stated multiple times that he only develops what he has an interest in, so no gay content, no human faced males barring the breeder and no futa on male. He's already been called every name in the book for not being """inclusive""" enough and just plain doesn't give a shit. Best you can hope for is that he opens up modding when he releases so anyone with enough know how can "fix" the game to their liking. That said, Female on female animations for surprise sex are coming so female breeders can capture female nephelym through sex.

He only added those sounds last minute for the steam release because people warned him it wouldn't be a good idea to have a game on steam with no sounds. If he had his way we would still be playing in silence so it's likely that there will be a long wait for any sound improvements.

It feels like most of your problems with this game stem from lack of content that comes later. If you really want the dev to see your concerns your best bet is to post this on the discord which is very active, it's a shitty place full of sycophants but at least someone that matters might see what you have to say.

An hindsight he certainly gained while playing the game and looking for answers on his own, instead of directly complaining on the issues of a game that is not finished.

Definitely, all you need is on the internet, you just have to look for it. And I can assure you it doesn't take all day.
But yes, certainly, as we have searched answers, we found most of them, so we can now answer your questions.

I can't figure out either how this causes you some issues. Also if the game is a little laggy, maybe your computer is responsible for that (though I clearly doubt it as my own computer makes it run pretty smooth, and it's surely not the first quality, you might say).

I swear, people nowadays just want everything handed to them on a silver platter. I'm from the era of gamers all the way back in the original nes days, where YOU HAD TO figure out what buttons did what, and this was in a COMPLETE game.

This is an alpha/beta aka a work in progress. If said person wants to make a game a certain way that's his/her choice. It doesn't mean your obligated to like it or obligated to stick around.

Yes Spillthebeans got it from hindsight, because he actually took the time to either

A.) look up on a wiki what does what or on other forums.

or

B.) Played the game himself, and tried out a whole bunch of things to see what did what and how it worked.

The main reason why so many features may be missing right now is because the creator is trying to keep appeasing his patreons through big/small updates that are also quite a big update (size or quality that is) sometimes.

If he took the time to put in everything right away of what you're asking, it may take a month or two or more. And you know as well as I do how impatient people are nowadays. Quality vs Quantity.

Bottom line comes down to how can I appease these people and keep them giving me money so I can work on this project as much as possible and how can I do it in the shortest time frame, along with making it the best quality that I can make it.



Also as has been said, the discord is the best place to give feedback, the creator has come in this thread at points, but hasn't responded in quite awhile on here.

I apologize I don't come here to try to argue, whenever I've gone online nowadays compared to my time frame, this will kind of give my age away but I don't mind sharing it, I'm from the 90's era of kids.

I'm from a time period where you did things on your own, got help when you needed it, and we had winners and losers, compared to nowadays where it's "everybody's a winner" which led to people from what I've seen becoming way too reliant on others.

I'm not saying I don't, but I try my best to do things on my own, I'll give you a perfect example of something that makes my blood boil at the constant hand holding.

I used to play Final Fantasy XIV, this was during when a big content update that just came out on the stormbringer expansion. To give a short story, this is a mmorpg where there is no open beta testing. What do I find when I log in for the first time after maintenance in general chat? "Hey guys, can someone tell me where the new stuff is"

Now understand that this is content no one has tested before in the public eye, (closed only through square enix employees whose job it is) so not one person will be able to help you with said question because they're in the same boat said person was in, everyone's trying to figure it out, and the easiest answer to said question which should be common sense, is check the patch notes that come with every update in games.


It's not just one person in general of what I'm tired of. It's just this mentality of wanting every single answer handed to you with no work yourself as a person and just feeling entitled to it. If you put some effort in and didn't find anything, then came to ask for help after you couldn't find anything, sure I could understand, but not without at least trying to find an answer yourself first.


Sorry for the rant, just seeing this hand holding mentality nowadays really grinds my gears, because I'll see people complain about things that they could have easily figured out themselves with just a little of experimenting with looking up information, or playing//experimenting with the game/device.



And to give you a heads up updates are usually pretty long in between unfortunately. The longest one I remember was at least 2-3 months, other than that it's been multiple patches/updates within said month, unfortunately alot of them are going to be leaning more towards just quality of life updates instead of major content updates like adding in new areas or nephelym.

Just recently started playing this game again and goddamn, it's really good. Sex and monster mechanics are really solid, content is pretty fleshed out, just needs polish, story, and some progression, and then it's a mastahpeece.

On another note, does anyone know how to make presets? I know Helmsman has a thing where Patrons can make them, but is there a way to do it with the downloads provided? Thanks

Always turning your head, trying to figure out who's talking, what they're saying, what they're talking about.... I digress. YouTube has a video on proper storytelling and introduction.

Alpha/Betas are expected to be this way, and quite a bit are in incomplete states.....

Now then to address the other point:

You are, based off of reading replies here pretty often (you and others), in the 1% that thinks the game is "unplayable" and I base that off the "people can actually play the game" (sarcasm or not) comment you made.

Obviously it's not so unplayable that you don't want to play it and have. You want to talk ACTUALLY unplayable?, look at the previous messages people have posted in this thread of black screens, crashes, etc. And that's still majority on said person's/people's end/s. But not majority of people playing the game.



Back on topic, I hope the new update has sea/underwater nephelym.

I'm curious as to where the roadmap is for this game, assuming that there is one. I've read that items will be added... someday. Stats will mean something... someday. Lots of things will be added or finished... someday. Meanwhile, whenever I read a changelog it seems to be filled with things that were never even mentioned before they were implemented.

It's all rather confusing, and I think a nicely made roadmap to let us know what is coming and at least some guess as to when would be a nice addition, I think.

This is one of those things that could solve most the negativity here, but the dev refuses to do (If they were also capable of keeping their word too of course). Reading their patreon info and then checking the changelog makes me laugh.

Rofl. I guess this behavior is what you can get away with sadly. As long as people keep funding this vague animation viewer shit, the dev can continue lying and playing games for as long as they want. This dev reminds me so much of the Breeding Season dev. Talks real nice but never follows through on their promises. A conman. That's not just an opinion, take a look at the changelog and see how long it's been between decent content additions. Then compare it to their patreon promises. I wonder if it's just a steady influx of new people that don't know how slow/shitty the updates have been through development keeping this afloat.

I'd love for the dev to prove me wrong and release a ton of new content/gameplay stuff, I've given them plenty of chances. Hasn't happened yet. It's pretty sad that there are some really awesome game devs struggling on patreon and this dude makes bank throwing out a new animation or small tweaks every once in a while. This isn't even an issue of the dev just making way more money than they should be making for the work they do. The dev isn't even keeping their promises.

Yeah. I remember about half a year or so ago when there was an "update" every few weeks - but if you look at the changelog literally all it was was adding in another five (usually bad) presets from the Discord and nothing else.

What's most frustrating to me is that there's such a solid base here and so much promise, but it's left pretty much entirely untapped.

FruitSmoothie This is what I see with most patreon funded games. Not all, but most. If I can be cynical and making assumptions, I'd say that most patreons like that are made precisely because they know they can get away with just small updates every now and then. Their patreon supporters will still keep paying them for those. Also possible that it didn't start like that, but it surely ended like that for some patreons.
