Hey Everyone!
Here’s a quick update on what’s been going on with Breeding Farm this month.
I’ve been doing my best to work on new scenes for the game, and part of that has been focusing on improving my skills in Blender. Over the past few weeks, I’ve learned a lot, and I’m excited about how this will help me create better environments and scenes moving forward.
At the same time, I also took the opportunity to actually enjoy my break a bit and get some much-needed rest. Because of that, I didn’t get as much done as I initially hoped—but progress is still being made!
Thank you all for your patience and continued support. It means a lot, and I’m looking forward to sharing more with you soon.

It was optional, but the writer got cold feet and decided to rewrite the scene due to complaints here and on Discord. However, he left a while ago. In fact, I think the whole team left about two years ago to set up their own studio with blackjack and hookers and to make their own versions of the games they were developing at Team Bieno. As you can see, they didn't deliver a single shit.
It's a miracle this game is still around and hasn't been abandoned by the studio founder in favour of his other game since, as I said before, the whole team or at least a huge chunk left.

How I was treated for something similar at the time, but the outcome still went to the harem fanatics. On the other hand, it was 3 years ago and only a couple of versions ago)

From a neutral standpoint, I've never understood why some people here were so outraged by the optional, totally avoidable scene. I mean, this game is clearly based on BS, and that game featured several scenes of the NPC banging with other NPCs and monsters. The main appeal of this genre is that 'everyone fucks everyone' and at least this one let you choose.
At least to me, it seems that the game is incorporating that idea again, particularly in the breeding scenes.

Sigh, here comes the revisionist... the very first version of that scene was NOT avoidable, hence why it got major backlash, and then the change from that feedback was still very half-assed to address the issue (instead of making it truly avoidable, they just made it "avoidable" as in the act still happen just off-screen and you still have to read it after being misled in the date by the now-whore mother), it might have eventually become a truly avoidable scene much later down the line when they finally decided that ok this is not worth the trouble and plug off the whole thing but i was already out by that point.
even if BS was as you said 'everyone fucks everyone' genre, i can play the whole game only having female monsters on my ranch and being the only male breeder and i have total control of the pairing selection regardless of whether that's efficient gameplay or not, it's player agency. That stupid ntr writing throws out all player agency off the window
1. it wasnt optional, I mean it was in the sense you just didnt have to actually do the story but like thats not how games work.
2. Is this speculation or did the team set up their own thing and I've been missin out on this knowledge and just gettin fed scraps for awhile now?

I remember Lost Tavern representing the rest of the team made an announcement on the discord a long time ago back when the main guy (GZone) just up and vanished without a word. They said they haven't been paid and weren't even sure if they he was coming back or not, they were under the impression that the projects were abandoned and so was everyone else. They started their own team called "Stray Dream Games" and made a discord too. They announced two projects that they were going to work on and they were both similar to Breeding Farm and Amity Park
Eventually GZone came back to apologize, pay them, and announce that the games weren't abandoned. So Stray Dream Games said they'll continue working on Amity Park and Breeding Farm for awhile (I think until he could hire a new team of devs? I forgot it was a long time ago).

I ammmm not in the discord but I appreciate the lore dump, didn't know most of that and thought we were just getting hung dry with shitty ai art teasers cause people were just milking a dying project and not cause the team internally collapsed.
Pretty sure it isn't. As far as I remember, the game indeed let you choose in some option about Rika getting back to breeding (which most people think it can disable the ntr.) But intact it dint. And Rika still fuck the Wolfman. Also, many people actually get passed with Rika backstory with the black wolfguy (i think he has been breeding with rika). Which they count as ntr, even tho it was in the past + the mc hasn't even had a relationship with Rika at that time (cause they haven't even met.) I think the dev should make the wolf scene optional. As for the black wolfguy in Rika backstory. I think just make an option to not see it or smth. Or just make the storyline where the wolf breed Rika never happens or also optional
100%. Even just clicking on the speech bubble in the bedroom seems to cause the Quests to start bugging out. Maybe I was lucky, but its the only bug I ran into. The quests are just coded in a very strange way to separate them so you can't do a few quests at the same time and also restrictions to quests showing up near the payment date.
My advice:
1) If you see the speech bubble in your bedroom (before starting Jealous Widow) but it won't do anything, you're just out of energy. Try again the next day or just use a debug code to add energy, leave the room and comeback.
2) After you start Jealous Widow, do not click on that speech bubble under any circumstance (or at least save before you do it, view the content and load your save)
3) If stuck, just let days pass, pay Elizabeth and then try again to start the quests.

Once abandoning project devs usually take that path to scam other new supporters.
The splinter group was nolonger being paid so they made their own team and project.
That said the patron model leads to elongated projects with no end with minimal effort for a payout. It looks like they just released the first version of there game so only the future will tell.
I think in the long term not keeping their vision did more harm than good, some really weird decisions started to be implemented: they wasted resources remaking the quest instead of making the scene optional and because Rika would not be a breeder anymore, we got a random non-playable female mc.
And at the end the people who wanted 'everyone fucks everyone' lost their agency, Rika is limited to be the faithful mc's lover and she cannot be used anywhere else, I guess that's gonna happen with the rest of the mc's harem.
