i saw a while back somone was trying to make a kinda-reboot of this game but havent heard anything since. so maybe its in the works?
Oh yes it's called Breeding Farm and it's a spiritual successor. Different developers but share shares practically the same artsytle and gameplay but it's lacking to the alpha of BF. Lacks the humor and much more dialogue, though it has more of a story and more sincere/heartfelt. However progress is SLOW since last time I checked. They only have 2 artists on board, one for animations and one for artwork, since the graphic designer can't animate and they want "quality porno content". I prefer BF for the overall art and it still has more content wise on the breeding side, but it looks promising. Here is hoping it doesn't get murdered or abandoned.
Does BF has shotacons like Breeding Season? I always liked the idea of shotacons cause the breeding felt real.

Can't believe i never asked this before, but does anyone else prefer the old ver. of BS? before it's whole artstyle revamp that is.
I kinda liked the gruff and scrawly look of those builds much better than the seriously impressive but still offputting latter artstyle

Could have been one of the most solid H-games out there, shame things went to pot in development. What exists was a really promising proof of concept and sparked my interest in this kinda thing.

The most core important feature, i think, would be to have a satisfying breeding mechanic, and enough variations (whether in sex animations, color palette, and face/part/model variants) to suspend our disbelief from recognizing a repetitive pattern, a mixture of procedural generation and genetic-based inheritance...
While i'm not into the other aspect of the game, i think 'Slave Matrix' is a good example of how a satisfying breeding mechanic where u can see the impact of both parent's genes/dna on their offspring is like when translated into a game

Yes, I agree, a satisfying breeding mechanic is essential for this type of games.
Unfortunately, one of my problems with breeding season is the repetitive nature of the game (Slave Matrix, Breeding Farm, Breeders Of The Nephelym have the same problem).
Cloud Meadow tried to counter it by adding different core features like farming and combating... and lost the focus.
So, I would say, a satisfying breeding mechanic as the main focus, but adding complementary mechanics to make the game less grindy? I dunno...

I believe the build ver of Breeding Season was around 3.6 or something when i first stumbled upon it way back.
Don't have the build anymore, since i cleaned my comp when i went dark for quite a while. now i find it's 7.7 and it's been abandoned
If you still want to take a peek at it, i believe there's still the link to the dev's work drive in this thread. It had those old builds. Otherwise... i'll need to scrounge up some old swf hosts that didn't update their goods
I believe it's ver.6 or earlier. I also believe Mittsies was also the artist at the time along with S-Purple.

Absolutely The old art style before that low down good for nothing thief of an 'artist' destroyed it was the best game ever. Started changing for the worse around v4.5 i think. 4.41 is the highest version i play.

the owner of the game was really dumb and gave the artist the power to fuck the game whenever he wanted and so he did. Thats the short version

not a spiritual successor but there is a game called portals of phereon and in terms of art it looks gorgeous

Oh! That Fantastic!
Sorry, i would have uploaded them myself, but i have a habit of going off the grid randomly so... I recovered the leaked Drive folder (that ...i think had saved way back when it was public) and extracted files as well.
I found out that the last build (that is publicly available) to use that old artstyle was 4.2. Yes It was a lot grimy and rough, clearly offputting to some. But to me, and quite a few others it was awesome! The breeding feature was bugged but it had a lot of potential, and i didn't as much cared about the scenes at a point and was totally invested in the game mechanics.
And then, i dropped off the grid again, coming back online years later to find ver 7.6...something (also abandoned), and this ver has an absolutely BANAL energy system!
Like god dammit! As if the time counter wasn't a good limit already. Delilah stopped being interesting and is just a Busty Pent up woman, the humor is fucking dry spaghetti, and if the consumable system wasn't complex enough, it even got complexer.
Honestly, it was quite offputting, even if the art seemed much better and there was more variety.
And that's why inconsistency just doesn't sit well with me. Old players (like me), if they hadn't been caught up with the news loop, would feel alienated by the sudden changes.
Also... Guild Points..... sheesh.
Even if it was an "Amateurish" artstyle, it was more gripping than the standard artstyle, even if it be quite good in animated form.
