Also, what's with everyone releasing a "Demo" lately? Games lately release these tiny micro-updates AS IS, a demo with nothing to do won't attract me to your project.

I mean, the Dev didnt post this himself on here. Which explains the odd character in the Description, which was badly copy-pasted by the F95 Uploader. He posted it on his Itch, and seems to just be doing this just to do it. Everyone in this thread being negative is acting like this is supposed to be a full chapter release, but as he said in his Chapter 1 progress post, its a "proof of concept", and not the actual "First chapter". The Dev seems to want to tell a story, and as long as its decently written, I'll give it a shot. The dev is teaching himself HS2 and Ren'py as he goes with this, so why anyone is expecting more than what is clearly and blatantly stated as a first attempt is beyond me.

I made a generalized question about how a lot of devs are releasing demos of linear stories, it makes no sense.

The first version I uploaded wasn't even like really, a real thing. I just wanted to show my co-writer what the general outline of the game would look like. I'm aware it's very shit lol. This will not be the standard going forward.
And yeah, I don't really know what I'm doing, but I do have a plan for the story. Pretty odd to draw conclusions about me as a person and the game as a whole from 3 minutes of "content." That being said there is improvisation everywhere, and I don't really see how that's a problem. Every creative writer does it.
I probably overestimated how easy my ideas would be to convey in honey select 2... Lots of post processing and shit to do eventually.
And yes, I'm learning. All of my time in ren'py and hs2 has been been devoted to this, and I haven't touched them prior to starting this. This is a huge undertaking in every sense of the word.
I would upload it myself here but I have no fucking clue how to use this website.

Pretty much this.
I could've done a better job of conveying this and do it a bit differently to improve first impressions so that's on me. It's all understandable really, I see where they're all coming from since I'd be pretty annoyed too tbf.

Hell, my biggest problem is the last preview pic. Never took any guy seriously with a dangling bangle earring. Never saw a single one wearing that that wasn't in the closet or already out.

Does it not give us some clue to what the story is about, whether it's an male or female, demon or person... I just don't understand why people don't want to give the most basic aspects of the story for people to decide if it seems interesting?
The list of inspirations that I've never heard of doesn't really help, but probably means I'm not the target audience.
