To advance you need to hunt down a "Very Dangerous" level bandit. They appear at night in the desert, in the same place you hunt them during the day. You must have a horse of level 2 or higher, or it may run away from you.
When you work a little in the mines there is a chance of getting a gold bar that gives you $1000.00, or you can also get money by trying your luck in the Saloon games. Your first gun also comes for free, just advance a little further in the story.
I paid Henry off and it keeps saying I have to keep working in the mines.The only places I can go is the mine.the infirmary,bank,hotel and the church.
After you pay Henry, while working at the mine from day until night Jeffrey will invite you to the Saloon. You need to accept his invitation.

I think you didn't quite understand what I meant, in the top left corner there is a clock that shows the time of the day. You only need to work in the mine for 2 turns(Day > Afternoon > Night). Grinding in games is also something I don't like, and I minimized it to have as little as possible. You also have the option of enabling Cheats to further minimize effort and just surf the scenes. I can also give you a Save with the game 100% complete and the gallery unlocked if you want.
I worked over a week in the mine and got the gold bar and still tells me to work in the mine and Jeffery hasn't asked me to got the salon with him.Everything else is still locked.
