The points are removed for the upgrades, then you need to keep enough to actually perform the upgraded act you elected. Those points are not removed and can be reused indefinitely. But, if you are short on points, no BJ or sex for you. That is why I recommend no less than double because the cost of the upgrade is ALSO the qualifying amount of points you have to have to actually perform the newly upgraded act.
I don't remember which action is under the accounting option but if you have BJ already, the next is intercourse. Otherwise, it will be the BJ option. Been a long time since I was through that part of the game.

found a bug with sophia. I hit stop using contraceptives have the affection points for it, dialog plays through saying she'll stop then immediately after she says thats a wise move and is back to using them
