The first few you obtain through Career Book. The remaining staff come to you via taking over new districts. There are different triggers for different events and I don't have them all memorized however, some trigger when you have a business meeting, others require you to go to one of the locations in the brothel you can visit during working hours when the brothel is open for business. It's the next step to fucking her! Always make sure that you have double the amount of required points for a spouse upgrade. If the requirement is 1000, you want to be at no less than 2000. The points are removed for the upgrades, then you need to keep enough to actually perform the upgraded act you elected. Those points are not removed and can be reused indefinitely. But, if you are short on points, no BJ or sex for you. That is why I recommend no less than double because the cost of the upgrade is ALSO the qualifying amount of points you have to have to actually perform the newly upgraded act.
I don't remember which action is under the accounting option but if you have BJ already, the next is intercourse. Otherwise, it will be the BJ option. Been a long time since I was through that part of the game.

found a bug with sophia. I hit stop using contraceptives have the affection points for it, dialog plays through saying she'll stop then immediately after she says thats a wise move and is back to using them

I had the same issue with the Sophia birth control bug, but downloaded the patch and finally got her off the pill. But still, nothing happens when I fuck her. How do I get her pregnant? Am I shooting blanks?
